We've stopped a while back too.
Only thing I'm torn with is fabric in whole of trench or just placed on top of stone

I’ve always placed fabric just on top of the stone. In my head it slows the silting of the stone

We fabric over stone in sports drains, where very sandy soil used to refill and frequent sand banding and sand slitting will be used. But in gardens and fields just big stone. 20-40.mm clean. 20mm rd pipe then bigger to fill up

I always v-trench and then wrap both the pipe and shingle. What am I missing?

I am often in a very sandy area.

I wont even line the trench tbh ...we have just put a drain round a house and the customer wanted wrapped pipe ... it was a back room with floor far too low in comparison to surroundings and water was coming from everywhere, so it was trench/pipe gravel up to ground level then fabric covering and washed gravel whole area.

Someone else had had a go at another part years ago ...we put a sump in at one point so he can see whats happening and pump out to help drop levels in v wet weather.

Always tricky - no promises on this type of work just an openness with the client.

Fan belt on the E17 had been slipping a couple of times so thought I’d tighten it up yesterday. What an awkward bugger of a job, so much so that I though I’d be as well replace it while I was at it. It wasn’t in the best of shape anyway.

The manual says to reach over the engine to adjust it but I’m pretty sure that would be impossible. Next step was take the seat out

Then remove the box under the seat.

Was still a bit awkward to get in about the bottom bolt on the alternator but got there in the end.

Yeah that's exactly what I had to do to tighten belt too

I did bearings on the van the other week. Battered one out with a big socket and a big hammer just to see what it was all about. Took the other to someone with a press. Much more civilised.

used to do hundreds of 'em for all the local garages and ended up with all sorts of support bolsters for some of the more weird shaped front bearing carriers for cars, for those that came out the back side, with the circlip removed

all mine have fabric just on top - full width of trench then the rest of the stone on top ..... all running like hell when it pees down (which it's done solidly the last couple of days)

Belt replacement on the E27 is a radiator out job, it's a very uncommon size with no tensioner either.

Then had 16 ton of sand to get shifted in the rain all day slow going

Video is bottom land drain once Geotextile cut and top water with 2” pump into it

Did the sock over the drain stop the water entering the pipe… or did the sock over the end of the pipe stop it exiting the pipe ?

Did this one around the folks poly tunnel in 22 . About 5ft deep at bottom end and 3ft deep at top. Lined it with teram and then 40mm clean stone over the 4” perf flexi pipe. Tough going with the e10 but only 6” bucket so didn’t use much stone.
It’s so dry now that it’s a few days inches lower a couple yards either side of tench because that part of the wet clay feild isn’t as wet.

What did you bed the pipe in with? Presumably that makes a difference.
