It's listed as a 500 hour service item. It's no different to a loadall boom or an extendahoe, it's just that being smaller you notice the play more, and these small loaders spend a lot of time with a load on and the boom out. I like to keep things tight.

It didn't strictly need doing, some studs were worn down to 3.5mm rather than the 4mm when new. But one had sheared on the stud, and that would have led to metal on metal if not treated. Most people would probably have left it- then again, a lot of people seem happy to use a mini digger with half a foot of play each way in the offset.

Grease is not the right thing here. Now it's on a diet of Waxoyl and with Oilon studs I expect it to last a lot longer. Not a difficult job.

Pressing this old freebie v bucket into service for next week by converting/bodging it onto s40 - hardest bit was chopping old s60 pins/ears off it - nothing remotely fancy but should do the bit I need.
Seems like previous owners added more to the front which made it strange to work with when i used it the odd time on the 8t,tempted to cut it back to what looks like original shell

How you spacing? Make templates with exact spacing slots and handle so you can hold 3-4 strips then run it up as you pin?

We set off at 21mm top and bottom but larch is banana’d so had to regulate them and pull push to eye, then as we get to within 1m of corner or doors/windows then change to land on full board so technically we’ve got 19/21/25/28mm across it so far. Place I got them from had low stock so sadly got some crap and at £13.50 a 3m length it hurts to reject them but will use on back corner. Delivered as well so no chance to pick while loading.

Very tight grained though slow growing Siberian timber

We were going to secret nail from side but decided to facefix with 50mm stainless brads

At 3m high had 1 top, 1 bottom fixing top 2 and bottom 2 battens and then laser on for other 3 to keep nails in line. I was cutting 45s top and bottom for drip. Roof slopes as well so side we had to mark each one and cut to 3 degrees front set up stop and cut all the same.

Mint in winter

Feels a tiny bit less stable but I can’t see it will be much weight.

i would be a little worried about the boards pulling off the brads ,as the shrink and expand with weather ,personally i would of used the stainless screws

Hmm they do look like 18g? Inclined to agree.

Thems the tongue specific ones but they do cladding ones iirc. Cracking screws

Tried the millboard ones left too much of a wound in the face and tried with the millboard 45 degree side jig,

tried 50mm stainless ring shanks from im350 etc

50mm stainless brads was best compromise on fixing vs damage. And didn’t want to plug etc. We even considered making panels with a French cleat.

We’ve got 8 horizontal batterns so 16 brads in each one.

My joiners 56 been a joiner since he was 16 and is very good, I’m confident he’s have pulled me up if they were no good.

It’s Siberian larch as well some have 50+ rings cross sections in 28mm 45 degree cut

Job we were on last year they ended up screwing them as the pins didn't hold with all the weather we had

I did 50mm stainless on cedar on campsite welfare block I built for client, this being mine it less important and can keep an eye on them and she who must be obeyed didbt like the screws or 50mm rings out the first fix

Today I put full 150 kg of me pulling on one board and didn’t move.
