Roof stripped off this week ready for walls to come down.

Saved about 300m of 4x2 for future use, probably still another 100m on site in smaller lengths. Some nice bits of 8x3 as well.

Nice to save it from the skip but not looking forward to denailing it, any ideas?

I saved some decent Canadian 4x2 from 1970’s off a job 3 years ago, it’s still in the way now, the odd bit gets used occasionally but it’s oldskool size so doesn’t match up to new 4x2

Smaller but quicker repeated cycles are the way forward with loaders IMHO, as I keep saying when people laugh at things like the Sherpa. Minimal mess, the whole job just flows when one man and a machine can move and spread an 8 wheeler of stone in a tight space in half an hour.

I had a cracking race with my Skidster running soil away from a 1.5 tonner digging a soakaway. Good 60m straight-line journey. He was faster as the bulk came out but I caught him up while he tidied the corners etc. The mouse that roars.

Went and saw Santa today, he pissed me off by assuming the my Mrs was cooking Christmas dinner, if he paid attention he’d know of that was the case we’d all have food poisoning over Boxing Day!!

Probably should have started earlier, you forget how quickly it gets dark at this time of year.

It's only going to be used for rough stuff like shoring up footings and misc shuttering so doesn't need to be the best stuff, always pains me cutting up new gear.

Probably going to dump it all in the yard and wait for day we're rained off.

You can get those air powered ones that fire out like a stun gun in an abattoir shoot the nail out.

Have seen them but wouldn't work for most of these nails as they're not poking through the other side.

Got a couple of ideas I want to try... probably going to regret not throwing it all in the skip

why have you got any ...... have had freezing fog all day here -- everything is covered in a white dusting ... looks like the inside of a deep freeze/cold room -- seems a little warmer outside this evening, but probably just 'cos the wind has dropped ... viz is max 100yds !!

why have you got any ...... have had freezing fog all day here -- everything is covered in a white dusting ... looks like the inside of a deep freeze/cold room -- seems a little warmer outside this evening, but probably just 'cos the wind has dropped ... viz is max 100yds !!

aye - can well believe it -- bet our drive's like a skating rink .. haven't had a prolonged cold couple of days in a good while ... it's the fog and the E S Easterly breeze that makes it twice as bad .... the odd few minute blocks, at a time, I've spent outside today have been positively bone chilling ... day totally burgered ..... was equally cold yesterday, but the sun made it tolerable
