I grew up with handle start on the farm.. and spend about a solid year mixing up compo on site when I was 20 yrs old. 8 yard RORO full of sand and forks would just push the mixer up towards us as we used up the sand. One rollup per mucktub (2 mixes) was my routine. Was 50kg bags of cement as well in them days, and I'm not even that old. I recall an old labourer telling me how they used to mix up a yard a time on a flat surface with a group of them with shovels. Hand crank mixer would have been welcomed by them!

I remember the 50kg bags as a kid, no idea how I moved them around aged 14/15! Kids have no idea these days lol

I'm a terrier for this. People often advertise marketplace tat at more than the new price, once 20% VAT and 30% retail margin (that would pay for consumer rights I don't get as a second hand buyer) is taken into account. I then start knocking off 10% blocks for wear and tear, no box, having to collect from a shithole, wanky profile picture collages, distasteful employment/association, fat etc. A lot of sellers end up owing me money without goods ever changing hands.

@Monkeybusiness - I’ve upped my timber hauling game

I reckon I’ll get two ton on here to the top of the pins in ten foot lengths. Plus another ton on the tow truck. I’m basing this on this short load towing much easier than the e27

Will make it easier to bring small amounts back from jobs.

Technically I should be able to tip this off, but I’ll be using the crane for this to stack it neatly anyhow.

Exactly. 50x5mm box welded fully to the crossmembers and the edge of the trailer, the seam line ground out and then 40x4mm box fits a treat. A drop stop welded to the pins and an M12 captive nut and bolt to hold it tight.

If it works well for the next four trips that should clear the site, and then I'll put adding another 3 pairs of bolsters on the 'wet day' list. These are pretty strong but I'd prefer tighter pin spacings and more bolsters would decrease the risk of shock loading an individual fitting. I'm expecting the pin to bend before the bolster gives, but at the end of the day it's only ever going to be as strong as the crossmembers, which I think are 3mm thick.

Yes the normal side leg sockets do have a limit...I've got one that needs welding up

I have used similar setups on agri trailers before. I found a hole drilled at the top of the bolster big enough for a ratchet strap to fit in is a good addition to hold the top of the bolsters together and stop them spreading over time . Also useful if you have to transport trees for planting as you can make bays to the ratchet straps. To stand them in.

It's a tri axle. They don't count

It's really not. The axle placement is crap on that trailer. That's why I biased the pins towards the front rather than centrally.

if you don't load whatever you are carrying with that trailer at the front, it will try to kill you past 40MPH.

The hitch and airbags are at the right height for that trailer. It's a right problem child.

I remember going to work one day, dragging bags to the back roller shutter of my dad's Renault master Luton van, but not being able to lift them. A few weeks later, I could lift them, and said so to my Dad. He told me they'd been halved in weight as they'd been declared too heavy! As a sub 11 year old at the time I thought that was hilarious
The ones I hated until they stopped doing then were 40kg bags of sand, being tighter packed than cement I always found them really hard to get hold of for some reason
