What’s the worm gear like weve had one 20 years done so much mixing for us but worm gear on last legs and it’s about 1200 to replace.

Ours is electric start yanmar engine with pull cord back up, also have a 240v

Going to sound green.. but how would you check? This is electric start Yanmar also .

That pulley in photo is connected to worm gear rod with drives gear box on back of drum, have you checked oil level or has it been greased instead on ep90 etc as prone to leaking

Should manifest itself by slap in drum if turn it manually and watch pulley wobble etc

when you hear "RUN !!" just make sure it's in the opposite direction to the 'engine end' of said mixer :ROFLMAO: .... it's gonna come off at some point :oops:

I grew up with handle start on the farm.. and spend about a solid year mixing up compo on site when I was 20 yrs old. 8 yard RORO full of sand and forks would just push the mixer up towards us as we used up the sand. One rollup per mucktub (2 mixes) was my routine. Was 50kg bags of cement as well in them days, and I'm not even that old. I recall an old labourer telling me how they used to mix up a yard a time on a flat surface with a group of them with shovels. Hand crank mixer would have been welcomed by them!

Not really any drum slop.. I checked that when I picked it up. Gear oil on the list to check while it's nice and level in the shed.

1981 ... spent a 13 hr day feeding two parker 3-1/2, four wheelers, younger brother on barrow and the old man laying, for a 30' x 30' x 6" slab for him to build a shed on .. was a ****ing long day :LOL::LOL: ... and yeh them hundred weight bags of cement were bloody heavy ...... ready mix was an expensive luxury back then - especially for 17 cubic yards (trucks were six cubic then) :rolleyes:

and on the subject of Parker 3-1/2 mixers .... this ain't dear but 200 miles away :( ..... will have stick with my little one :rolleyes:

my Thwaites Alligator 2.5t is hand crank - anti-clock ... 's a right head **** ... you try it ..... jus' not right ....... and then you have to reach the decomp.s too :oops::(
