I usually sleep in the van in a quiet rural layby. Only had trouble once in ten or so years. It was the night the pubs reopened when the worst of the coronabollocks had worn off. Three or four kids pulled up outside the van at midnight and started gaily kicking f**k out of it. I was in bed in my pants so really only had shouting in my arsenal. Had they arrived only half an hour earlier, they'd have found me mounting night vision to my new AR. That could have been the anecdote of all anecdotes.

Got my 1st backhoe job this year on Saturday. The last time I had one was 8th Aug 2022. (Although I did hire a 3cx and driver in January for few hours)

The 432 went in April 22, still the machine I loved to operate over any other, but demand had dropped to an all time low and no good it sat doing bugger all.

Will be nice to get back in cab of one this week

I’ve barely used mine, just around the yard.

Great ergonomics. The bolt strokes under your cheek so you can stay in the aim, especially important with night vision (narrow field of view and the fact you can't see the world with your eyes to reacquire quickly). Bit clacky but tube chassis bolt guns are comparatively rare and expensive. A Tubb is the best alternative I can think of. RPRs are big and heavy.

I wouldn't be seen in public with that paintjob either. Barely behind NO FEAR on a lifted Discovery 1 windscreen sunstrip or ***Powered by Fairydust!!!*** under the filler cover of a Zafira.

243 with ballistic tips - Remington and leupold - that was my old setup - tbh I preferred lurchers to guns but guns took a lot less looking after.
Was just getting interested in night vision but we moved to France and sold all the guns beforehand.

Keeping with the nautical theme chopped this up yesterday

a dry dock for boats that wouldn’t float anymore

and this should be in the oops thread

A brand new tyre only fitted the day before with foam fill
ran over a piece of steel that I had cut with the shear and cut the tyre in half
so £245.00 for a new tyre and £500 to get foam filled not a bad days work

Theirs is a uk guy on YouTube who has a registered .50 cal just a lot of paperwork to get it

I thought military calibres where a no no here ?? Definitely seem a lot of stuff converted to .22. someone was selling semi auto mp5's chambered for .22 rimfire with 80 round drum magazines. God knows what the point in them was.

I think it’s actually a .223 Remington but same as 5.56

Everything is relative I suppose ..... it was pretty effective, loaded our own , light fast and flat , iirc thry were 90 grain but dropped off a cliff iirc

He must be noshing off the FEO. There's no 'good justification' for owning .50 cal in the UK.

As for ARs, .22LR MP5s etc- no chance of owning one of them in Sussex. Our FEO hates 'tactical' looking guns. I'll eat my hat if the 80 round drum magazine actually took 80 rounds too.

It's bollocks really- a national standard of 'good reason' should apply. It's a total lottery at the moment.
