Todays job was spunking a few £1000 on tools as one of the lads had the works van broken into last night on street outside his house in Stratton / Bude / Cornwall. About £1000 of his tools and £3000 - £4000 + vat of work owned stuff. They unlocked the van (it’s all on CCTV) at 11pm and cleared out all the cordless kit and all power tools including the press gun which wasn’t boxed, and flue gas analyser. They knew what they were after as they made sure to pick up all the tongs and spare battery and charger for the press tool as well which were not boxed. No damage to van and most hand tools left alone. Van will have some large external deadlocks before it gets any new tools. Won’t stop em but will slow them down and hopefully make the problem move along to the next poor sod. First time it’s ever happened to us. They emptied a groundworkers transit custom (drivers door lock damaged) about 5 minutes after doing ours. I wish they could know the pain they cause ….

Tiny little dig but slow going as it’s like spaghetti junction. On the home straight now.

Makes such a difference having a hydraulic hitch. I must have changed between toothed, bladed, ripper and breaker fifty times.

Doing a load of work on this barn, farmer can’t remember when it was last mucked out 1960s he thinks. Over 1.2m of highly ammonia smelling sheep s**t to clear so we can scaffold inside to tie roof together.

Been doing some backhoe digging today. Having this machine around is really starting to prove itself.

Nicking someone’s work tools is such a horrible thing to do. Not only is it the cost of replacement, but you are often destroying his livelihood until he can get them replaced. I’ve had my vehicles broken into six times I’m hotel car parks and it is such a sinking feeling discovering it in the morning. Then it is made worse by the police having no interest even if you have clear CCTV images.

Mine came out last week, first time in nearly 2 years
I would of normally done the footings with it, but now I've got the 2.7t that did it. 1 detached house and garage

I’ve had my vehicles broken into six times I’m hotel car parks and it is such a sinking feeling discovering it in the morning. Then it is made worse by the police having no interest even if you have clear CCTV images.

The one time I stayed in a hotel while away working, I got a room next to the car park and slept with the window and one eye open. Not relaxing.
