I have done a video on it before, last year on a job. The landscape contractor I'm working for at the minute owns it. Cost around £30k I believe with the tablet, total station and software. A major investment no doubt but it does make life a lot easier on these large landscaping jobs we work on. But you do need good quality drawings to start with, we have suffered a bit with this and designers are having to "clean up" their drawings a bit to make it easier for us to select points, but this job has been much improved in that regard so we are getting there.
Got a bit of flack yesterday when I put a little video up on Instagram of it. People saying its not necessary etc - but you would set out a £50k house foundation with it - so why not a £200k garden project.
I have filmed a bit more on it whilst I was using it yesterday so hopefully that will help you understand how it works and just some of the functionality of it. No doubt it can do a lot more than I was using it for yesterday! Ill post the video here once I've edited it and put it up on YouTube, but here is the one from last year when we first got it.
