What size units Dave? I'll mention it to a few south manc lads.

Just shy of 100m2. I did originally want it as 1 whole unit as I’d got someone lined up for it, but planners insisted!

I am a committed vehicle fleet operator with about a dozen vehicles or so on the road. In my experience the factory batteries last 5-7 years (that’s based on 90% Ford and 5% Isuzu and 5% Vauxhall) . Replacements from regular garage seem to last around 2-3 years. I’m sure there is a lesson to be learnt.

lucky to get any replacement Vartas far beyond their warranties these days (If they actually make it!!) .... I have a few original blue Vartas that're still going strong at past 10 yr old (will have a look at their dates next time I'm out) - I date them all the day they're bought/fitted .. easy to find the invoices, when they fail - usually only buy from one source locally ... know who to chuck 'em back at then

Stumbled across an off-road club video in some hardcore custom trucks all trying to get up a very slippy bank, fella rocks up in his bog standard new defender on standard tyres and utterly p|ssess all over them! Amazing tech!
Must admit it puts my Hilux to shame, but then I’m not too fussed of my Hilux ends up on its side!

Did a defender day off road in Devon somewhere in 2011? Basic stock model with TC would piss all over most things I've ever tried off road... nearly bought a utility wagon then. Wish I had, it would be worth more now! My old man paid about 14K ? (Maybe less?) for a brand new stock 90 defender in 2011. I reckon it would be worth more now!

I wonder how many different size batteries some companies actually make and whether they all but some in to re brand because you can have 2 or 3 batteries the same size and brand give good service and buy the same make but a different size and don't last

Had mine replaced today stop start bs only had it about 7 weeks the bill is going to the dealer who said they'd pay for it.

Not long been back from tonight’s callout job. Holiday guests turned up to water pouring through kitchen and dining room ceiling. No insulation in roofspace,both tanks had 20mm of ice on the top and this cold main was the first place to split

We did that with the 3 Jakes we had never bought a battery for any for quite a few years

Yea I ended up very stoned never made it near any ladies, lucky him getting his money’s worth, I would only need about 3 minutes, whether I’m drunk or not

I used to go to Amsterdam a lot with bands when I was a roadie in my younger days I think almost 20 times in 3 years. I personally didn’t indulge in anything more than the coffee shops delights but we had this lad who sold merchandising at gigs who was a proper animal. Anyway one night we are drinking back stage about 1am in the private crew bar of paradiso in dam square 2000 capacity old church now a great venue. And we get a phone call it’s some fans of the band who are Scottish oil rig workers we’d met in Aberdeen early on this 8 week tour we were on.

They were in Belgium at a festival waiting for justice to come on (because we are your friends….) anyway they get a cab from Belgium to Amsterdam arrive about 2.30am proceed to pay for everyone in the bar to get even more s**t faced (swigging rum bottles with a glass of Coke type shenanigans) about 4am merchandising lad is in debate with 3 Aberdeen lads that he’s always wanted to shag a midget! Aberdeen lads think this is best thing in world and set off with him to find him not 1 but 2 midgets then they watch the lad trying to skuttle them) they rocked back up at the bar at 6am with merchandising lad smiling ear to ear and pictures for proof. They then got a taxi back to Belgium and managed to catch justice coming on at 7.30am at original festival .

I had to drive van and everyone back to Sheffield at 11am having got into bed at 7 with heady cocktail of substances and booze sloshing around. Brilliant night in the dam
