Why can’t you find anything suitable in the UK?
How do you get on with the Deutz? Is she a 150.6 or 150.7? Mate had a 150.6 and it was a dead thing, nothing special for grip either. Although it was a nicer thing to drive than his M620, and nicer to drive than the Same Virtus 130 that replaced it. His kept giving bother with the front axle and 4wd pack so it had to go.

Forestry tyres - like rocking horse poo since Covid for some reason. I’m going to have to import some by the looks of it. Ag tyres can’t handle the mulching work this tractor does, constant punctures sadly.
It’s the 150.6 and it’s been fantastic for me tbh - has done at least 2000 hours on the mulcher (which is bloody hard on kit) and mechanically has not given any bother (but I’m anal about maintenance/regular oil changes etc, I’m not a tight-arsed farmer!). It is horrible on the road but that’s largely down to the cross-ply tyres which are like driving on 50p coins!
When I first got it it replaced a new hired-in JD R-series on a forwarding trailer on some seriously steep moorland and certainly didn’t lack in grip - went everywhere the Deere went no bother.
It’s got loads of grunt - not sure if the previous owner did anything to it as have never dyno’d it but I’ve always been happy with it. It’s nice and compact for its size which is handy amongst the trees.
Plenty of things I’d change about it but in general it’s done me well!

Highly recommend giving Neil Redpath a call at Redpath Tyres, will find their number for you later.
He went above and beyond to find me a pair of tyres I specifically wanted, when everyone else just fobbed me off saying you couldn’t get them anymore etc!

Reminds of the myth busters episode when they were testing plane windscreens with air canon and frozen chickens, had to be reminded to defrost the chicken or got full penetration

Question- I don't do footings and the like- if there's a little square like some you have marked out do you try and leave the little island or just dig the whole square out- would have thought the island would just collapse

A repair job I did on an old deer park enclosure wall 8ft high. Was a bit awkward tbh getting some of the stones in as could only sit the digger in one spot and do everything blindside on as ground drops away very steeply, also a job keeping the boulders rolling off down the hillside as I was sorting through the collapse

Depends what ground is digging like and how well its likely to stand up versus time spent trying to leave a little "island" instead of just pouring more conc in.
