Got the first stage of a recent fabrication job installed. Glad to see it in while it’s dry, very rare not to see water there to be honest. The rest will have to wait a few weeks now, it’s time for a rest…..

A few friends have sent me this
, the original letter drop around launceston / bude / okehampton was £50k a few months back and now they are pushing it more west with you receiving it. They have done some serious investment in the last 2 years ( £5M ) they made alot of money in the covid boom but it has died off in the last 6 months The cheapest being £70k all the way up to £450k! + £6k a year fees. They have been running the whole phase you can see in the treeline off a generator as they didn't have enough power! Was not far off £600k to bring a new feed inI bet the general manager is absolutely delighted with me being in it, as he loves telling me I'm expensive

What's the opinions on these holiday cabin/hut type things on post covid...I fancy one on our plot in the long run but not paying current rates will they plummet?...A few friends have sent me this

Stuffed the alpine into some brambles.
Had the new flail out today, doing a great job. I’m really glad I went for this tractor with the hydro gearbox- when you are doing this kind of thing it’s all shunting, and I can’t imagine the state my clutch knee and shoulder would be in from leaning forward to change the direction lever every time on a geared alpine! It’s the perfect machine for this site, a steep damp garden with tons of brambles and overhanging trees.
All going great until she suddenly died. Nothing on the key. After a quick poke about it appeared main fuse had blown. Tie it together, runs but only in the start position! Looks like the Lucas switch had blown the 1st position and taken the main fuse with it when it went. Pulled it all apart and twisted some wires together to get it home, now she’s got a nice new Bobcat ignition fitted to match the diggers.

Are you going to put a guard or screen on it?? I know they are close to the ground but it always worries me seeing open cabbed kit with mowing equipment. Had a few smashed windows from them in big tractors

I just wear a forestry helmet with some tunes playing through the ear defenders. It's like a cab with a radio if you squint!

worked on a Poreba that'd swing 7ft and 45t between ctrs, but wasn't as long as that ... 12m IIRC ....... looooong time ago in 1980One for Graham ........if you tell me you had one but longer I'm going to need photos

When British Sugar had the factory at Spalding, they had a lathe that would swing 4’ at 30’ centres. It was fitted with a continuous welder for building up pulp press scrolls. Sorry, no pictures.
