So I was running around this morning doing some jobs, delivery twot turned up with my new screener and dropped it off tail lift with his electric pallet truck going over with it. Not sure how he did it. I didn’t get there till he was long gone.

Silly duckers!!! The tail lifts scare the heck out of me, paving deliveries the worse as they are blooming heavy!
The front cutting edge is going to be close to the dipper given the headstock angle?(might just me being delirious after a long week!)

It looks like it been dropped off the tail lift. Have a good look rounder yer yard for a dink in the surface which matches the damage. Have you got CCTV? Looks like compensation will be coming your way

Finished a small set of footings yesterday 12m x 600mm wide, 1.5m deep nothing out of the ordinary. Except for the first 1.6m had the gas supply running though the middle of it and then at the corner the water main, which unfortunately ran down the centre of the 8m dig, which that other return to the house had the electric cable in, thankfully that ran out of the trench leaving all of 1.5m of trench without any services in it

Spookily enough I looked at a footings job today with exactly the same list of services running right through my job
If I take it on there will be two builder/groundworkers on site.
Have already suggested that they dig down and find the gas main - did I tell you that I hate plastic gas mains
The FW drains will be ripped out. The CAT and Genny will help me locate and divert the water and avoid electric
As I said, "It's the snags that take extra time" - we shall see......

Spookily enough I looked at a footings job today with exactly the same list of services running right through my job
If I take it on there will be two builder/groundworkers on site.
Have already suggested that they dig down and find the gas main - did I tell you that I hate plastic gas mains

Apart from keeping you and the dry if you hit water it makes life so much easier t ing in for new water pipes. But most of all when you hit a gas Main you can make it safe. You can even hand dig around it and neatly expose the pipe for sgn and then have a nice word with them as you have saved them work to put it down as a failure rather than a strike so you don't have to pay

Serious word of warning R.e Gas.

Squeeze offs are ok if you've completely severed a line, or if you've merely hit a household service. But anything larger than that which is punctured you are far better off leaving leaking. Namely because you will contaminate the gas pipeline with Air if you shut off it's flow and could well impact supplies to critical services, and will leave you a big bill to purge the pipelines.

Another thing people don't realise is a gas leak will cause heavier than air gas to displace any air within a excavation very quickly. This negates explosive risk but creates a risk of suffocation due to oxygen deprivation.

From memory most of the Gas fitters carry breathing apparatus for that reason. Certainly not something you'd be keen on jumping in.

Yeah EA machine. Not really sure what it's been up to, not much going by the lack of wear in the pins. Yes got loads of shite on it that I'll never need but was pleased that it had the extra services. Will get it put on steels in due course too

There`s a good chance it will have bio oil in it, worth double checking it you have to top it up. Use it as a selling point when someones cribbing about a price

It’s a building site yard so no cctv but my lads were there watching him f**k it up, no question of what he did lol
