Oh really. That's a shame. I've not seen one in the flesh but thought they looked good online. It's a good point though even if they are red now- in my experience red things turn pink with age and sun damage.

I often hear people saying they are a bit slow and soft feeling (over here)but I quite like the look of them .... apart from the air con what was the verdict?

I normally drive a micro so it feels like a rocke ship compared to that.
The only thing that stands out to me is Aircon is vital in a cab and it doesn't clean up against the dozer blade without offsetting the boom.

Went on day release to Southsea today and saw these beasties.

The blue ones were kobelco sk500 and I couldn't tell what the big yellow one was but it had 800 on the side so I guess 80t?

By barge normally to get it to the shore. Alot of the rock for sea defence comes from Norway believe it or not

They had a pair of 50t kobelcos on a catchment lake project I drove past. Weilding the biggest ditching buckets I have ever seen. Near twice the width of the machine.
I have been loaded by a 35t new Holland with ditching bucket before and thought that was big loading an 18t grab lorry in single pass but these where twice the size atleast.

Most of the sea defences round Portsmouth have been improved with cast concrete walls. It would seem only Southsea beach is getting rock armour. Hopefully they will leave enough beach for enjoyment, even though it is mainly pebbles.
