After days of excessive heat and sunshine, good old Dartmoor/Princetown never fails to provide some much needed contrast .
Took the wife out for a bike ride. I’ve upgraded her to a E bike which means I have to put some decent effort in to keep up 😂
This is the first time I’ve cycled this section since 1998, which makes me feel old :-(

Got roof on and lanterns in, forgot the vapour control layer so 200mm insulation to come off and install the £1500 moisture vapour layer. Then insulation back on and top layer of osb then edpm

Called in on a job we did 2 years ago see how it’s settling in, some real work to do so fighting to get water tight

2 years ago?! Wowsers, time is flying…
Gutted you need to strip to add vapour barrier - I ended up down a real worm-hole with it and spent a fortune on Alutrix and special telescopic fixings that go through the top deck layer and insulation. (Hopefully it was money well spent as my only real concern with my house is the flat roof which I hate with a passion but had no choice!).

Same same alutrix 600 and thermally broke fixings only need 600 of them lol 😂

Annoying me it’s raining now, will have to dry it all out to get it on this week.

Not got proper drawing as mates no rates for drawings so just says warm roof by specialist lol so having to work it out myself. Done cross vented cold roofs before but not warm ones

Yeah, we had 600 of them to screw in too…
Make sure you get long enough driver bits (a long adapter won’t fit inside the tube) - we struggled to find anything locally.
That Alutrix sticks to the primer like s**t to a blanket - there are some good vids showing how to fit it but internal corners are definitely nowhere near as easy as they make it look!

Due to shape of roof I’ve got 6 thankfully vs 24 external corners with all roof lights

You used ply? Was specifically told not to as it delaminates osb only?

My understanding is that it only delaminates if wet (in which case the job’s knackered anyway!). I was absolutely anal about everything being super-dry when we built it.
I am nervous about the whole thing tbh - definitely not a fan of flat roofs in any way at all.

Stones throw from my house in that carpark. Grass is always greener in Princetown🌧️. How far down the railway did you go?

Did a loop out around Burrator and back on the railway line. Think I prefer living closer to the sea TBH. Too many tourists and cyclists in your neck of the woods. I did see a nice 7.5t Case with a dump trailer parked up down near Burrator next to the Army training place there.

Thats one well kept Specialised Enduro looks tidy for 20+ years old, or has it had a refurb? and some good sized stoppers on it.

I bought the frame from a mate in 07/08 ish and built it up myself
It’s the S-Works / M5
Discs came with it and were cable - hence size of them.
Hasn’t done a huge amount of work and cleans up well. Bit of a classic now. Original spec gravity dropper post 🤣

Nice to see an old school cool bike still being used and in really nice condition, I used to ride an old GT aggressor ( 2009 ) until a couple of years ago when my dad need something newer than his then 30 year old bike, so I upgraded to a Whyte T129 and he had my old girl which he still rides 10 miles everyday at 78 years old!
