@Stroppymonkey what thermal camera do you use?I need to change careers. Power flush machines and thermal cameras not satisfying my urges anymore. Todays fix is a £80 project to see if I can turn it into a grading box /leveller for the Tafe. 3 miles away so handy. I don’t like going far

. I spent hours messing with the scales when we built the crane trailer and 50mm can make the difference between negative and over weight .Bosch 12v. Sufficiently useful for what we need it for

No jack legs built on pads as you can see needed a bit of remedial work, @CPS bucket worked superb on timeber
well the adopted UK std is 16", ctr. of ball to G/L ..... and yes with a twin axle, (or any trailer) you have got to get the coupling height just right especially not to get negative nose weightAt what ball height
had a mate pull in the yard many years ago with a trailer on the back of his 90, with a 2-ish t machine on board and asked if I could see why it was making some odd noises ... hitch was way too high for the Ifor and it'd actually worn slots in the back cross member - in not a great distance ... made a plate to weld to the back of the landy to re-establish the holes in the right places and sold him one of our adjustable dropper set ups to put on to get his heights right ... didn't have any more issues after ... had to use the fork lift to get his trailer off the back off the back of the 90 when he pulled in ... nose weights aren't set/designated for the hell of it LLYou and your nose limits
, to say nothing of the designed spec.s of the hitch slider itself ... too much and it just won't slide .. they ain't mounted in linear bearings ... just a greasy tube - that will stick if it has too much weight bearing on it .... it's also worth bearing in mind that insurers'll wriggle like ferk with any trailer accident and it'll be the first thing they'll assess ...... and then ................ you have PC Plod to contend with

amazing how G/L gets built up over the years ... the farmhouse next door to our barn has a 1677 date over the front door ... dare say our barn ain't far behind it
