We have it here too ..our signs are in French and Breton ...when ever it's discussed most think it's a waste of money but should be just in Breton.
and a lot don't think Bretagne should be part of France anyway, the guy down at the testing station collers me every year to explain that soon it's going to get independence from France and it was taken illegally etc.
Finally nobody likes a sign more than the French....end of our road makes me laugh out loud when I notice it from time to time.
EDIT: in fact I'm going to count the signs at the end of our road (entrance to village) and nearest guess gets a special prize in the post .

absolutely ..... a mate of mine tried to get a teaching job in Wales for years .. application forms always arrived in Welsh and was a pre-requisite to speak it .... even in Gwent FFS total discrimination

When Pam's kids were doing their GCSE choices they were forced to take Welsh ... both wanted to do French, were good at it and would have been more beneficial than the crap they were forced to take and have never used since .... If they'd been 'properly' mine I'd have gone to the wire for them on it, but 'wasn't allowed' to.

welsh is only compulsary at a younger age not as a choice for gcse age ,the school gets more funding so try and push it on you.much more welsh speakers around here than up with you ,definatly an advantage for some jobs here

Cutting some steels for a job as it’s pissing wet outside. Don’t have a side loader forklift so the digger will have to do.

Chinky bandsaw cutting well, it’s grand for the amount we do. Couldn’t justify four times the price.

used to sling long beams dead centre/perfectly balanced, Doob and carry 'em on a fork tip, with forks fully spread ... could get them almost alongside the FLTs and drive 'em straight into the saw, single handed.
Ying tong doing a decent enough job .. if you want summat bigger, keep your eyes out for a Startrite Meba 320, like I bought, a while back .. see 'em cheap enough and are bombproof..have had several .. most others use TC blade guides and are usually well worn, but the Mebas are roller guides and always cut perfectly, adjusted correctly.
spares are also easily available ..

It's hard to see how anybody can cope on fabrication and repair without the help of a digger , not at all unusual to take the digger out on site with the welder

I always had a choice of 5 cranes or 5 FLTs, all of varying capacities/reach/etc., from 1t up to 45t, but have to say, I wish I'd had a duck back then too ... would've been awesome about the yard and workshop

Knott axles are the cheapest and easiest things to keep in good working order. There’s no excuse for the state of most trailers on the road.

New stainless cables x6 at £9.50 plus vat each and half an hour to replace them all and set up correctly. Good old triaxle tipper.

Before anyone asks- no, the cable ties are not wrapped around the tipping floor

I found them on eBay.

Put up a floodlight by the main gate on a scaffold pole welded to the gatepost earlier, then strung a wire to feed it. Pikeys hate light.
