Is silver still down 31%? Or rallied?
Heading back up. Currently 20% down on the week, 10% up on the day. Still 19% up on the month, and 153% up on the year.

Could be a bull trap- could also be the recovery after a massive manipulation of the paper silver price to allow a big bank to exit it's short positions. All sorts of theories out there. A big bank going under would have triggered the next financial crisis so if this is true maybe it was the least bad option?

It's a rollercoaster for sure. At one point I could have afforded the Deutz 125hp tractor with loader. At the low point I would have had to settle for the 75hp without loader. Probably just about able to afford the 125hp without loader again.

@doobin whats the craic with this ebay listing? https://ebay.us/m/2tR1Ea
I see silver at around 57 quid an oz then this guy selling silver coins at this price. Is it due to the fact not 100% silver similar to sovs not 100% gold
without doubt ... brit coins only had a 50% percentage of silver in them, pre '47 ... pre 1920 was 92.5% ... it is however an offence to deface coin of the realm :rolleyes:

So is there a standard percentage of silver or does it vary by coin and date?

Not for those coins it's not- you can sell them for melt any time you like.

You will get around 43% of the silver spot price for pre 47, to allow for refining costs. Use this page to check current prices per gram and make sure you are getting a reasonable deal on eBay- https://gerrardsbullion.com/sell/sell-silver-online/silver-coins-prices/. Lots of people are offering pre 47 for silly premiums over what it's actually worth as scrap- that troy oz there would be currently worth £24.02 (31x£0.775
)
That said, although the spot price might be £57 currently you won't get a 10z .999 coin for less than £80. Physical and paper prices are diverging because everyone who holds physical knows you can't print it. When the spot price drops dealers are suddenly 'out of stock' or 'closed for maintenance'.

Are you just better off buying silver britannia if you want to stack? Saves having mountains of shrapnel as guessing higher silver quantity. Also a good shout for a doomsday scenario saves having to buy a thousand loafs of bread with your soverign you can just buy twenty with a silver britannia 🤣
