All depends on your viewpoint...from the other end of the country I can laugh and say tough luck and it makes sense to some degree ...but the cynical could suggest that once nutjobs higher up decide that further controls are needed as we aren't able to decide what cars we want to drive or even own them....it will make it easier to enforce as folk are already conditioned.
Top and bottom there's to many fekkin idiots on this little island. Just had 155 houses approved on full greenbelt here this week. Full open countryside contravening local plans...council eventually through the towel in as wankhomes got deeper pockets. Not one sniff of amenity improvements...hint of a football pitch they already trying to wriggle out of. Beyond a joke now.

Yes I keep seeing them on Facebook cutting down the bollards that stop ratruns.
If you read what the council are proposing it actually seems pretty reasonable. Making sure everyone has a doctor dentist shop and all other essentials within 15minutes. To me that seems a very reasonable thing

I think you misunderstood me I'm trying to say the 15minute city and the traffic restrictions are 2 completely different things. And the 2 have got muddled and and a dose of conspiracy added. What I'm saying is reasonable is any plan to make sure everyone has a doctor available within a reasonable distance and time.

The low traffic Neighborhood thing is something else entirely and a perfect reason why towns should be avoided

I'm not a lover of massive conspiracies, but I can tell you locally there are multiple NPR Cameras on crucial but minor roads that "Appeared" during 2020..... Coincidence or conception? either way it's gathering data to what end?

The 15 minute oxford thing, along with the london clean air expansion and the introduction in other places? who voted for it?

It is easy to be misunderstood. My problem is simply the removal of “freedoms”. Then the imposition of financial penalty for not “obeying” such restrictions. Stick to the Ten Commandments and we don’t go far wrong.
As for the doctor thing, when you start saying it is reasonable, as soon as you define a time and distance you create a can of worms. Why only in X City, not Y town. I live in a rural area, why should I have to travel further or longer!! The more the state dictates the worse it gets!!
As for avoiding towns, those of us that live rural will avoid them as much as we can. But when my hydraulic hose blows I consider the straights route with what knowledge I have to get there and back as quick as possible!!

Yes there was some small window with a gap in it and wainhomes clocked it. Then it got all complex with various challenges and called ins. Dragged on for 3 years .....

I think we need some drive to improve the current situation though. As has been said the availability of GP's is not where it should be. And without quantifying it it's very difficult to improve upon.
And a timescale is probably best as 15mins rural travel is a lot further distance than 15mins urban travel.

I also agree that I hate any form of government control or interference. But unfortunately I'm also aware that we have reached breaking point with the amount of people in this country and moreso people that can't be trusted to do the sensible thing. But people are to selfish and stupid to police themselves

99% of GP practises are privately owned 'businesses' and run by the GPs, contracted to the NHS .... if they don't fancy being in a location they're not going to set up a practise there. Combine it with a shortage of GPs and you get the current problem, exacerbated by, as said, waaaaaaaaaay too many ppl in the country, a great number of whom are not indigenous, but seem to get far more 'rights' than the natives.

after a bit of googling .... they actually bought 39 vehicles ... some are operational, some are in the process of being ''mobilised '' and £1.5m of the budget was for charger installation .... the fact that most of the vehicles they replaced are normally "taken home" by their drivers will create a need for space for;
(a) the driver's own vehicles during working hours when they have to bring their vehicles to work
and
(b) space for all 39 vehicles to be on charge overnight ...
and
(c) sufficient space for ALL the vehicles (leccy and private) to be on site together
oh and they don't have sufficient power supply to cope either

I noticed that the people in favour of the Oxford 15 min plan are many the guardian all the green lobby anti oil protesters and leftwing activist and once fines or changes are at the front of plans to make you abide by the rules you know you aren't going to like them .
