anyone else been listening to the news / propoganda machine today 'bout the global warming crisis? 🤬 🤬 🤬 ....
'course it's gonna warm up a bit ... we're still coming out of the last ice age .... and if they have their way and CO2 level reaches an even newer all time low, we'll have no plants left and we will be in the sh1t.

He speaks sense so naturally has a target on his back…

I’d read recently that before the Industrial Revolution Co2 was at 280 parts per million.
We are now at just over 400 parts per million which is pretty insignificant when you consider plants and trees can’t survive under 200 parts per million.

Regarding Oxford, there’s been so much misinformation spread online that council staff and councillors have received death threats. It’s just about trialling restrictions on six very busy roads, and nothing to do with stopping movement or locking people in. People will still be able to drive, just on different roads to get traffic away from existing bottlenecks.

Yes I keep seeing them on Facebook cutting down the bollards that stop ratruns.
If you read what the council are proposing it actually seems pretty reasonable. Making sure everyone has a doctor dentist shop and all other essentials within 15minutes. To me that seems a very reasonable thing

Just a shame that you've a job to see a doctor and only shops are corporations in most places

This as far as I can tell is the point of the schemes. To change this. I can't find any official document that says anything about restricting movement. Everything seems to be about upgrading infrastructure

All depends on your viewpoint...from the other end of the country I can laugh and say tough luck and it makes sense to some degree ...but the cynical could suggest that once nutjobs higher up decide that further controls are needed as we aren't able to decide what cars we want to drive or even own them....it will make it easier to enforce as folk are already conditioned.
Top and bottom there's to many fekkin idiots on this little island. Just had 155 houses approved on full greenbelt here this week. Full open countryside contravening local plans...council eventually through the towel in as wankhomes got deeper pockets. Not one sniff of amenity improvements...hint of a football pitch they already trying to wriggle out of. Beyond a joke now.
