Terex hr18 problem

Hello my grandad owns a terex hr18 and is using it to tidy his smallholding and it has developed a problem. When he runs it for an hour the hydraulics begin to slow down but if he puts the dipper out the hydraulics work again for a small amount of time but the oil heats up and it stops again. Does anyone know what is wrong with it?
Thanks

What do you mean, ‘puts the dipper out’? Surely you are using the dipper anyhow as part of normal use?

Do you mean stick it out fully, dead end the circuit?

It’s what I do!
Restriction going back to tank, hydraulic oil cooler blocked, tank breather blocked!

It tracks for 20 minutes then it dies down but when he sticks the dipper out it works like normal for another 10 minutes and it does this until it dies. The oil is heating up in that time. It has had a full service and new pumps. Anyone have any idea?

How does it 'die down'? Dead stall? Deffo sounds like a major restriction somewhere.

Doesn't cut out just slows down to the point of it not working right

Ok so it sounds like the returning oil can’t get back to tank! Simply when tracking and it slows the returning oil has a blockage or restriction when returning to the tank, by using the dipper it allows a percentage of the oil into the larger half of the cylinder so less oil needs to go back to tank!
