If you turn hard one way so steering ram is fully closed does skip try to work then? I’ve got workshop manual will have a look in troubleshooting section when I get a minute

guessing you have the rocker switch on top of lever and two round buttons for lift/tip etc?

If the steering is hard it could be one of the micro switches has jammed on slightly, as the steering on those does go hard if you pressurise the tip/lift at the same time

Was it low before you filled it could be an air lock🤔
Has it got oil in it?

Any new developments? As it appears to be a year since your last correspondence? You had reply’s with valid suggestions, but never came back with any updates?

If you go round in a circle with steering ram right in and finger on lift button it try’s to lift but only about 6 inch’s and steering is so heavy to turn you can just keep turning the steering on full lock it don’t stop I’m not very good on this site the dumper has sat up for about a year as no one can get to the bottom of what’s wrong thanks bob

Don’t write it off just yet…..

I’m not going to pretend to know your machine inside out, I don’t, others might though so don’t give up hope.

But from where I’m sitting…..
Is there any way you can do a hydraulic pressure test on the pump? From what you’ve said previously, it’s full of oil? Correct?
I’m guessing the hydraulic pump setup is very similar to a Terex roller? Maybe take a picture for us all to see, if you can? Is so, then the travel pump is an entirely separate pump to the tip and steer pump/pumps? My first thought, aside from a knackered pump and/or any electrical issues, is possibly the tip/steer pump is struggling to get oil. Possibly the pipe that feeds the pump/pumps is blocked with debris or possibly collapsed inside and causing the pump to be starved of oil? That would be my first point of inspection with basic tools and no knowledge.

So it goes forward and backwards.

It steers.

Does high lift work? Without doing anything else

Hi thank you that could be a good point as when I drained the hydraulic tank and changed the hydraulic filter I refilled the tank and the company I brought the filter off sent me the wrong one so I run it with no filter until I got new one but it’s only ever gone forward and backwards since I refilled with hydraulic oil it used to make a noise where you could hear fluid struggling to get round the system when it’s running I can crack the nuts on a lot of the pipes and nothing comes out and I can open the big plastic not on the top of the hydraulic tank when running and just a slow flow of oil going round and the clock on the tank don’t go up but I was told that don’t matter I’m lost thanks for your help

From what you’ve said, I feel it’s an oil starvation issue. But as I said, I don’t know your machine specifically, others no doubt will know exactly how it’s put together.

If you can get any detailed pictures of the pumps, pipes, tank etc then it will help to give you some advice that may point you in the right direction.
