Telehandler Smoking

Hi Guys

2008 Bobcat T2566 5800 hrs..

Noticed its blowing quite a bit of black smoke out of exhaust when revving but also when let throttle go there's a bit of blue too.

Held it on half revs for about a minute and once the initial black smoke clears I'm getting intermittent puffs of the blue smoke while revving?

Any ideas where to start?

valve stem seals for the blue puffs
fuel filtration for the black
for starters

Its hardly used any oil in 100 hrs since it was last serviced by Bobcat, all filters etc are genuine so the fuel filtration has also only done 100hrs too.

Boost valve diaphragm splitting was a problem on the 1004 .

'bout what you'd expect for stem seals then  - what's it like on start up from standing a while?

Banjo joint filters checked/cleaned ?

Starts fine, no loss of power, you could say when holding the revs on and the puff of blue comes out there is a slight hesitation in the engine but you really have to listen for it.

I'm trying to upload a video of it but its not letting me for some reason

Infrequently , as i say it runs perfectly and iv only just noticed it.
Is it something I should adress straight away, as I'm not planning on getting rid of it.
I just dont want to get caught out when I need it.
I'm a builder/ developer so it can sit for months at a time.

Is it a big job?

live with it ... stem seals can be done in situ by the 'right bloke' -- scraper rings is a lot of work and usually entails doing a lot more too whilst it's in bits ..... standing around allows oil to drip into the bores from valve stem seals and give quite a puff on start up ... the bigger 'clouds' revving it'll be scraper seals not clearing the bores of oil splash and it 'contaminating' combustion
as said it's tired - but could continue for years with low usage
leaving it idling will also not help the matter.

Ok , in terms of start up there is no big puff of blue smoke, it seems more on revving and when take revs off and then straight back on power.

I'll just monitor it and have got a bit of peace of mind from you experienced guys input.

I kind of thought while 5.8k hrs is quite a bit , it wasn't really high, I suppose it depends on the life its had.

Its a great machine for what I need anyway and hope it lasts..
