Tb016 lifting eye location

On the end of the dipper I have what appears to be a welded plate approx 10" long, I know similar threads were posted but does anyone know if I can weld a lifting eye onto this plate.
This is factory fitted not been welded as owned machine from new

Inside the dipper literally just above the linkage its approx 10" long by just under the width of the arm

Looks ok machine kept inside when not on jobs. I'll check on Monday.

I think it's just a reinforcement price of metal that's welded on to give a bit of extra protection to the dipper- when rocks get closed in against dipper etc. alot of Hyundai's have similar with strips of metal. All 016s have it on. I'm sure it would be ok to take weight/weld too- it's only ever going to be a few hundred kgs or so hanging of it.

Machines this small are often not rated for lifting. Might not have check valves fitted so factory wouldn't supply a lift point

Don't need check valves on machines under 1t swl from memory.

The lifting eye if fitted from factory would either of been on back of hitch or back of bucket.

I don't know but some makes including JCB have a sticker on the little machines saying not for lifting

Exactly but they aren't likely to stick a no lifting sticker on then weld on a convenient point to lift from.

We tend to have WLL now I have noticed on more modern machines (Weight Lift Limit)
