Just a plug with an o ring for a seal which gets plenty oil on it when it goes back in I don't think there's anything else you can do. They don't seize in they just end up v tight which i assume is just from heating and cooling and pressure in tank going up and down through use. I only ever give the plug a v light nip when it goes back in but it makes no odds when you need it back out after months.

So it was 41mm, had a fitter out yesterday for a 70 plate Thwaite 3t swivel 200hrs on clock steering failed. It took a socket and 5ft bar inside a tube to loosen the nut!

Yeh orbital issues! The plugs get hot and cold during normal use, and this tightens them.

Better than falling out once a week I guess.

You can put them in hand tight after filling, next week, bar and socket to undo!
