tarmac prices

evening lads,anyone on here do tarmac that can give me a rough guide on a 2.5m wide x 150m long lane its my own property not a job and would be prepped ready so a ball park figure of what the cost to supply and lay.many thanks

Be a machine lay job at that (provided it fits) round me I'd expect around £25m2 for 100mm in two layers. Not had any priced for a while so can't be specific. I guess it depends how far from tar plant you are a well I'm only 20mins away so haulage cost is minimal.

Ain't a cheap job but it's worth doing right if you are doing it. It's easy to save by having it thinner but in 10 years time you'd regret it.

Have you thought about using a company like kwr contracting or re-drive
They run a ground engaging crusher down the track and simultaneously inject cement to give you a flat level concrete surface at a fraction of the cost
Providing you already have a lot of hardcore in the track\drive they can make a very good job they did an entire yard one place I worked so basically went from hardstanding to concrete overnight

I've watched a few vid.s on that gear and it looks awesome .... IIRC someone on the old forum had a dose done and was well impressed .... might be an option worth exploring @mart1602

I've looked into this myself for track at home/yard. Can do all conc myself and just for the concrete is half the tarmac cost. Add on mesh and then own time doing it along with access disturbance (do have another way in) and tarmac is a no brainer imo. Years down the line if top wears off conc its a lot of work to sort whereas tarmac could be planed off and topped again.

I think it depends on who does it as the setups vary alot I would think those running 400+hp setups will be able to run deeper than those running 180hp setups
Also will depend on whats there to begin with my bosses yard was good quality hardcore 18inches deep
Although the website says it work on tracks with a high soil content im not sure I'd believe it

They did a bit here on a prety good flinty/chalk track and it's worked well, held up for around ten years but starting to crack at the edges now. Was KM Goulding I think.

im not sure how far down the cement went into the gravel but the wet conc skin on top is only 2.5 inches ,when it starts to break up and pot hole its worse than just hardcore because you got realy hard edges to the holes

Did consider it, they work out at about 6k for the sleepers or 7k for concrete, both obviously require laying at that.. if I hadn’t already put 250mm of stone down I think I’d go with sleepers
