Must say the two Jcb’s I have atm are both spot on.
I made a promise to myself to never buy anything without a full demo before hand - with the guarantee that the machine delivered would be identical to the machine demonstrated, had it before when easy controls became more standard on 3cx’s , demo machine was a completely different machine to the one delivered- luckily for the better!!

Jcb own post on Instagram 220x going to Germany in black. Zoom in black highlights every dent bad panel alignment on it you'd think they'd try harder than that

You can see the panel alignment is shocking without zoom.

Black's always bad for showing any imperfection, but that's particularly bad. The Hitachi I have atm is just as bad when you polish it a lot of the panels are are quite wavey and you can see the spot welds

Yep I like the look of the new series - but what would you spend your money on if you had 35k to spend on a nice used 8t ?

A wacker et90 is the only machine in that class that I've driven that comes close I've not tried the Takeuchi, the -4 Kubota is hard to grade with and the Hitachi cab is so small I have to take the knobs off the tracking leavers to move backwards or they are inside my leg!
The doosan/bobcat isn't a bad drive but they always seem to have mechanical troubles and the leavers are very plasticy.
I don't agree with the long leavers on the komatsu and they seemed quite heavy but the one I used was on block pads which immediately put me off

My dad and then myself after i took over the business have had two new takeuchi tb 175. One a 2001 and then replaced by a 2008 model. 2018 i changed to a 290 many people said you won't like the 290 after the 175. Honest opinion they not that much different but the small differences do make a big difference if you know what i mean. 290 lot better on fuel quieter more comfortable but doesn't flow share as well as a 175. Tracking also not as good. Mainly 290 feels about 5 ton heavier not just over a ton heavier. Supposedly this is all sorted with the new -2 model which i know is way above your budget. I believe 285 were different again from 290. I would suggest try a takeuchi if you can i haven't tried anything else yet that would make me change brand

I had a Tak back in 2005 about ... it was a TB180FR and put me off for life I think
gone of topic a bit though .....I'm not due to change till April next year so hope the old girl keeps going - its year is already booked up and it's all very light work - so light in fact that may well drop down to a 6t LGP with a tilty when the time comes.Wondered what Rory would spend his hard earned on
he is usually entertaining
