Got a mates micro for a service.seems there is an attachment or service tool required to drain the engine oil.he cannot remember being given one when bought new 3 years ago and nothing in the book saying if it maybe located on the machine.it just screws onto spring loaded drain plug to release the oil.ive spent 1/2 hour laying at rear of machine today with a screwdriver pushing in valve to release oil and only got about. A litre out so far.anyone got any ideas.

If he bought it new pipe would be in bag with tools you get. Bit of clear pipe with a fitting on the end and a nut you screw on by hand. Literally the best thing out everything with a sump plug should have the same setup.

It was delivered to my farm and there were not any tools that came with it.only an instruction book

It’s quite a common idea and I think the fittings are available separately, but that obviously doesn’t help you today!
can you not unscrew the fitting out of the sump? Just like you would a sump plug?

if you’ve got a suction can you could draw the used oil out the dipstick tube. It’s not my favourite way of doing an oil change but some vehicles now don’t even have a sump plug!

Should be able to unscrew the fitting from the sump the same as normal sump plug.

Thought about unscrewing fitting but if there is a nut securing it inside sump I’d be in a big muddle.i dare not risk it.

I honestly don’t think that will be the case, but it’s your call!

I'd assume the fitting is a replacement for a sump plug so wouldn't be a problem but i wouldn't risk it if i didn't have to. Tell him to drop the tool bag off if he wants it serviced.

The 219 doesn’t have a nut on the inside as I unscrewed mine to drain the oil before realising where they had hidden the proper drain fitting.

He has no recollection of any tools and I’d know if there were any.i don’t think any were ever delivered.i asked him this evening and he will call dealer tomorrow to ask for the tool.i expect I’ll spend more time with a screwdriver.

Unscrew fitting. From memory it's a tapped hole in the sump

Sometimes them oil drain fittings are somewhere on or in located the machine . In a random spot obvs

Every machine manufacturer goes on about ease of servicing in their sales blurb and yet with most you still have to play sump plug roulette and end up with oil up to your elbow.

got something similar on the 'Drema .... can't recall the makers name ..... Ollie Kitchen sent me a spare fitting he had and for the initial drain, it was ok but bloody slow .... unscrewed the fitting to get the rest out, as per std drain plug ... the valve in 'em retains a lot in the sump bottom

Just unscrew it, had to do the same before when serving machines on site without the pipe. Pipe is very slow even with hot oil!
