Stihl TS480i (no Spark)

Hi Guys, I have a Stihl TS480i two stroke cutter with no spark all the usual things checked but was wondering if the crankshaft sensor failing may cause me to lose the spark, i have substituted the main control module with a spare but no joy, new spark plug, I have metered out the stator and that appears ok, tbh i haven't met many of these before so am at a bit of a loss, any help would be welcome,

I think with the new saws with the module the stop switch has to be wired in unlike the older saws that still run when disconnected. Also the connectors on the module have a tendency to not hold the wires good enough to make a good connection, so worth giving them a gentle tug to check.

Hi Steve, Yes I have seen the wires mentioned on some youtube Videos, but as I say I have checked all the wires into the micro plugs that go into the control module but to no avail still no spark, also I have the shroud with the switch in it plugged in and switched on to run position, I have metered out the switch and that is working correctly albeit, as you say in the reverse config from the TS410 so very strange thats why im leaning towards maybe the crankshaft sensor?

I agree completely but I guess they are trying to please the emissions lot, anyhow that doesn't solve my immediate problem!

put the battery drill with a socket in it and wind it over quick to see what spark there is
