My money would be the railhead is what's killed the tippers, finance company likely isn't willing to fund the entire outfit but the railhead is seen as a reasonably good bet.

I'd also say he is the face for some money I would find unsavoury but thats speculation..... It's surprising how many fingers are in how many pies to the level that some of the wealthy construction mougles must be so inbred there hands have multiples of 20 fingers.

The race for the bottom is always going to be won by the man spending someone else's money.

FYI the answer is hugely punitive taxation of personal assets/savings over a certain amount (we are talking millions) and similar for companies on there annual profits dictated by number of employees..... I.e a one man band shouldn't be talked on anything under £250,000 per year, but a firm doing turnover of 5 million with 10 employees gets nailed.

Likewise asset guard land and estate holdings like other countries do..... If your not a citizen and don't pay tax you can't buy land.

We should also gun down the Tsar come October.....

Majority of London is either owned by 1 man the Duke of Lancashire is it or foreigners. We welcomed the Russians and Arabs in to buy up our property and drive prices up. Not a great situation to be in. Think it’s a Belgium or Flemish guy own a 1/3 of the highlands in Scotland is it?

So is loads of the forest of bowland ...and it's mint and well kept. Never has wildfires etc.

Where as... the United utilities and other public access areas look a tip and are left "wild" or in other words unkept and always end having burns.

Burns are part of nature though? The rejuvenating properties of them are well noted, where as human manicured woodland etc is a garden basically

As in unintended/arson burns as so much fuel as it's not managed and takes up a lot of F&R resource.
The estates do have planned burns etc

It's a bit more complicated than that in this country due to how long we have managed woodland. Essential we have managed woodland in this country for so long that that the native flora/ fauna and wildlife have adapted to thrive in a traditionally managed woodland. Therefore just stopping management over a short period like we have done, doesn't allow everything to adapt back to how it was before. Oliver rackam has some very interesting books about how to manage woodland to promote biodiversity.

I think all fires are caused by mankind one way or another, but here in the UK forests don't burn, moors do. That's because the former are always wet, but the latter is often dry.

Controlled burns of moorland are known as 'cool burns' and are done very carefully. They need the right conditions which include dry top growth and a certain amount of wind blowing in the right direction. They set fire to the grass and heather and it flashes across an area very quickly before being stopped.
This means it kills off the top growth, but nothing more. It then regrows (because the roots are still alive ) meaning lots of green shoots for the Grouse to eat so they can multiply to be shot by posh people.
The alleged advantage here is that it helps other species to thrive too which won't be shot.

The issue with the tree happened a good few years ago.
Its not the cause of the present downfall of the company which is what the headline would lead you to believe.

I see, I think also there may be a law to prevent that kind of thing (folding of LTD company when caught red handed to avoid fines or court action), but not totally sure.
