Fk. Am I reading that right, suicide by digger?

Or just a work accident?
one of Pam's IIRC distant relatives topped himself with a Jake back actor ..... tied a rope to the lever, sussed where the bucket'd land ... lifted it up full, laid down and pulled the rope :oops:

'nother one drove to the local hospital car park and blew his head off, knowing that hopefully medical staff'd be most likely to find him rather than joe public

This is an alarming set of statistics

" Across the UK as a whole, more than 47,000 businesses start 2024 on the edge of collapse ":(

" “Sadly, for tens of thousands of British businesses who should be looking ahead to 2024 with some degree of optimism, the new year will bring a fight for survival as the debt storm that has been brewing for years looks like it is breaking across the country.” .......... “Now that the era of cheap money is firmly a thing of the past, hundreds of thousands of businesses in the UK, who loaded up on affordable debt during those halcyon days, are now coming to terms with the added burden this will have on their finances" .......... "soldiering on in this environment will prove to be one step too far and I expect thousands of debt-laden businesses to start to fail this year.” "

not quite, but not looking healthy either .......

" Financial analysts at Company Watch are sounding a warning about the company’s financial safety, having recently downgraded Laing O’Rourke from 14 to just 4 in its H-Score system (out of 100). Company Watch says that any company with a score of 25 or less falls into its warning area and is at serious risk of distress. (Only Tilbury Douglas has a lower H-Score than Laing O'Rourke among the Top 100 construction contractors – just 2.)

In its analysis of Laing O’Rourke’s 2023 accounts, Company Watch says: “The interest cover of -9.88 is alarming, indicating that the company is not generating sufficient earnings to cover its interest expenses.” "

" It is less than three years since Readie became the UK’s largest employee-owned construction contractor ... selling to an employee ownership trust in March 2021, Readie founder/chairman Stuart Read and managing director Paul Stephens agreed to take payments for their shares from future profits of the business. "
