Small shredder

I'm looking for suggestions/reviews for a small shredder.

Probably a petrol engine unit. I'd consider electric but would they be man enough.

What are they like with the likes of ivy going through them? I've a fair bit to go through.

If access and storage isn’t an issue I’d buy an old second hand ‘proper’ tow-behind chipper tbh - they are pretty basic things (so easy to maintain and fix) but the extra capacity and actual feed rollers make a massive difference when it comes to dragging brash through. You just need to avoid putting any soil/nails/stones through them.

If he wants a shredder for old fence panels etc you occasionaly see the tow behind Timberwolf shredders come up for sale. That's the smallest I'd consider, anything else is going to be majorly frustrating.

I was thinking along the 3inch timberwolf, eliet minor/major size.

I'm not fussed it been particularly fast and there's plenty of 1 to 2inch sticks to go through.

In a prefect world I would get a towable chipper near by, I've even got a friend who hires me his tw180 or whatever it is but by the time I've dragged it all round, set a chipper up then I'd either have to bring all the chip back round or then take it away totally.

idea is small chipper where I need it to be and I can leave the chip exactly where it is.

This is a job where I can plod on doing abit as and when. So again another reason to leave it there once it's round.

If you are sensible then you can feed an 8 inch chipper (gently!) with a digger - older Greenmech 1928 tracked can be had for under £8k, similar with Timberwolf 190 tracked. At this size they are designed for hand-feeding though, so trying to get smaller brash through them with a machine is awkward as the feed-hopper design is wrong (long lengths are easy though as the feed rollers can grab the end of the branch/tree).
Something like this would do it -
