is there such a thing as skates for a skip ?

Have a site coming up where I can just get a skip into (down a narrow carpark) but no chance the skip wagon can get down it. So I need a way to get a skip (30 times) from the highway, down the carpark with out hitting any jags, and then back again when full.

Cant use a dumper no where to tip. Cant leave skip on road as zig zags.

Whats the biggest vehicle you could fit in could it be stock pulled on site then dumpered out to a waiting grab lorry down the road ?? Could the skip be dropped on a transit to be ferried in and out

with a bigger plate on the single to spread the load a little ..... skip bottoms ain't the strongest though
how're you going to physically move it ..... 's gonna be heavy coming back out ?

or maybe use a leccy pallet truck instead of the swivel unit

Most small dumpers have high lift for tipping in skips

Not sure if anyone rents them in the Uk but I know he dealt with the manufacturer direct and they were very keen for a deal, so may be worth a look?

If you used smaller skips you could easily put them on a flat bed ifor as Rory said. I would have thought 5t would be about max.

What are you filling the skips with? Could you put the skips somewhere out the way and run muck out to them with a 1.5t high lift dumper? If it's only light ish rubbish put the skips on a ifor trailer like @JD450A suggests or a old flatbed Agri trailer

Being as we are determined to flog this topic to death and I now have a keyboard.....

The tracked skip carriers are great... But bar a height restriction they are as wide as a lorry and If you can get one in on hard ground then I can get a lorry in.

Putting skip gear on a dumper is something I have toy'd with many times (I have two sets of small gear that would suit) Trouble is unless you limit yourself to a 4 yard skip then you have the same problem.... Width. (this is the same with a Cabstar 3.5t conversion which I have also toy'd with and that would be limited to a 2 yard skip)

Castors/Rollers on a skip are a great idea, until you try it in reality and a small stone foils your plans.... or your on a incline and said skip has become uncontrollable. (I've seen that and it was very very funny).

You can do it with static frames of rollers (like in a factory) but it's not really worth the hassle.


These are the sort of jobs where either a road registered dumper, or a caged transit tipper (dependent on whether it's muck or mixed waste) is the solution.

Skip guys get pissy if you bend a skip dragging it about as they don't stack with other skips if bent

How far is the tip? Can’t you have someone backwards and forwardsing with an Ifor tipper taking 2.5 tonne (plus...) at a time?
