Hi,

I am considering buying a 1987 Simon topper boxer cherry picker. When I say buying I mean free. It’s rough but I say I can get it back in action. Battery powered. As putting up Christmas lights with 3cx front bucket plus an extension ladder doesn’t appeal to me any more Does anyone know where I might get a wiring diagram? Or user manual, anything really ,

Are the controls in the basket electric or hydraulic? I had a Simon topper years ago, wasn’t a boxer though but had electric controls in the basket and on the ground.

Hi Steve,

I am waiting for pictures as the machine is still in the guys yard. but looking at the pictures I think the controls in the basket are electric, I know there is a solenoid block in the box at the bottom. Also look like not enough pipes going to the basket.

looks to be a handy tool ..... you're gonna get very familiar with that, getting it all cleaned up .... might find it easier to buy new cetop blocks to bolt to the manifold, than getting some of 'em sorted .. not as dear as you'd think

cetops... gone up .... were 36 quid last time I looked ... many configurations ... match the codes or the schematic label on the top of the blocks

yeh yeh ... 'least I'm offering the OP some constructive help .... be cheaper to buy the entire block, than replace the coils, Aiden ...

There has been a thread on here before about a similar machine, the poster may of had some manuals, looking at some of the photos they posted.

Access Platform - Simon Topper

I have a Simon Topper Access Platform that are no longer made. It has a 3KW 24v motor that powers the hydraulic pump. The power is supplied by a bank of 4 large 12v batteries, paired up to produce the 24v. Keeping the batteries charged up has always been difficult when the machine was not in...

No I agree, I think your right regarding the price etc

for the cost of the initial outlay on this, one can afford to throw a few bob at sorting the control systems, etc. ..... wouldn't mind one of them for free TBH ... be bloody handy about here

Hi all,

Appreciate the responses. I’ll leave it where it is for now. Bought another project off the guy. What are cetop hydraulics? Don’t think the unit is too complicated. All hard wired , no modules or software to deal with, so should be enjoyable. I’d say wiring diagrams will be hard locate, it would make the repair easier but I recon I can get going with out.

Ah I see the cetop link now. I’d say the plug tops and coils will be the issue, but we’ll see.
