1st time out. 1st time using 4 in 1 bucket and first time in many years driving a front loader (limited time even then)
Any tips on grading etc with it welcome

To get the bucket level for grading and the like some people like a flat plate welded on parallel to the bucket edge that can be seen easily.
I prefer to put the bucket down toe first and roll it backwards. With slight pressure down. The headstock will get closer to ground as you crowd back until the bucket is level. Then as the toe starts to lift the headstock lifts ever so slightly. You know you have gone to far. This sounds hard work but when in the hang of it I find it can be done incredibly quickly and always found it the quickest way of of loading out a large pile without digging ruts

Yeah that was the part I found awkward as you can't see the front of the bucket.
Also trying to clean that ground back which is like a mat of ivy experimenting with different techniques, still unsure the best way on that 1!

A guy I worked for had a power rake attachment and he used to spend most of his time driving backwards! I remember we turfed a playing field using the avant and power rake to prep and bring giant rolls of turf with a rather medieval looking spike attachment. Good times!

Yeah seen a few local sports grd contractors using the smaller 1s.
It'll take a little time to get used to it but think its going to be a great addition

When i read about large rolls of turf, i remember taking this picture in Iceland.

I'd boom all the way out and open the bucket, then skinning the ivy mat into a bundle backwards before grabbing it. Occasional use of the bulldozer bit as needed.

Open 4-1 about 1/3 the way, roll the front clam to the ground then lower back edge into contact with the ground, drive forward and ever so slightly drop the back edge, until you can feel it cutting, doing it like this stops you over digging and let’s you skim literally mm off anything. Can roll up turf etc no problem..
I think that makes sense at 3am 🤦‍♂️
