Yes Gra - I was 'blown away' and overwhelmed by the interest

Over the weekend, Jack and me, did more fettling including checking all the lights - one N/S/F marker bulb...

....then we upgraded all the interior lights from mini 12v halogen to LED

We had 3735 views, over 164 watchers, and 29 bids. The winning bidder sniped it with a minute to go.
Had spoke to him on the 'phone during the week, and he was supposed to have come over to inspect
Now waiting for his call to arrange collection......
Sharon told me that she read a report in the Daily mail during the week that older caravans that need fixing up are in demand. Apparently the new owners are happy to spend a few hundred pounds on them to get themselves a holiday home on wheels.

Another busy week last week....
The delivery of the above Hobby caravan to Ely, Cambs went very well

The new owners, Nico and Annie are Italian. What you gonna do with the caravan Nico, " I'm going to take it down to the beach in Italy"
Initially, I thought I was going to have problems with this 'winning bidder'. Loads of messages about his car, a Jag XF diesel, going into restricted performance with DPF problems. They all do that
So I said, "Look if you make me a good Italian Coffee, then I will deliver it to you free of charge".
I was absolutely chuffed to bits that it made good money, and with it being only 80 odd miles away, a nice little day trip

It was a 'walk in the park' for my trusty old Navara. A nice trip in air conditioned comfort into the wild of the Cambridgeshire Fens. When we got to their place it was a blind side reverse U turn into his parking place. Did most of it then we uncoupled, screwed up the front on the jockey and pushed it round into place.

Still clearing out loads of my old stuff before I get too old...

This was a steering wheel from my late father's Daimler DS420 Limo. He has two which he used in Funerals and Weddings. When he had a brain haemorrhage, I finished up all the bookings and sold the cars

Then I listed my "Granddad's Moneybag" on eBay. We had a few years of fun
When I did a "Hopper Dump", about 120 pound coins dropped out - lovely sound
'Cos I was into electronics back in the day, I fixed this, fettled it and converted it to new pound coins
The 'winning bidder' came over straight away - a Father's Day gift for James...
"I know these machines Dave" he then tested it with coins supplied by me, and promptly hit the £70 Jackpot. "Dave, I absolutely love it, it will be ideal in my bar"
So James and his wife Leah, who treated him, loaded it to their Ford Ranger pickup truck

These are curved (well) soft red bricks and are slow to sell after I slashed the price
Listed on eBay - so if you want them, make me a crazy offer

Jack was over at the weekend for more fun and skills training. One that I really focused on was how to use a cross cut saw. Clamped 3x2s in workmate, and let the saw do the work etc. He really got the hang of it quickly
Then we moved onto trying to find out why our old hot tub was been leaking. It was fun cleaning it up and we both got soaked

Filling it up enough to get the pump working through all the pipes. I suspected that rodents have chewed some pipes. Silly old bugger hit the fast button and it ramped up like a sideways fountain - I got soaked

Then the Hyster gave us access to the dozed or so inspection hatches. The pipework was all bone dry (except for me!)
BUT there was a little drip, drip, drip from the pump shaft seal. And the steel mounting plate had all gone rusty - so pump strip out and service required - to be continued...

BUGGER - had a walk round the garden Sunday evening and spotted this beast through the roof of my Clarke Garage

Just missed my Iseki (tiny scratch) - that branch is a serious 'widow maker'

So this big old Silver Birch died back over the past year. It's be a good excuse to clear out more of my stuff so I can take it down. Now gotta either place the roof sheet or whole Garage?
On a positive note - more firewood

Machine Mart have replied back to say that a replacement roof tarp is £220.20
A complete new on is £442.80
Guess I'll be going with the new roof tarp AFTER I have taken down the tree.

what size is it ?? must be heavy duty - new poly tunnel cover was 60 quid - admittedly a piece of tat, but lasted 6 years - maybe it'd have gone longer without the bloody pheasants attacking it

Yeah this one has lasted 6 years. Albeit being attacked by branches and not pheasants I remember your story. I’ve stuck a patch over it with duct tape- don’t ask I’ll certainly wait until the tree is down. And maybe review my fleet of sheds and storage issues

So yesterday I changed the complete display screen on the Nissan Leaf 'cos it was giving negative images. So pleased when it booted up with vibrant colours again

Whats the craic with these windscreen solar chargers? Can I get any old one off amazon or ebay or do you have to avoid the Chinese crap?

I had one in the P38 to keep up with the discharge caused by the alarm and other draw - it didn't ... would need to cover half the screen on anything but the sunniest of days ... reckon it was 50+% short most of the time and was a decent size, like Dave's

Maybe not worth buying then if cant keep up to the job. We have maybe a similar era, 97, motor looking to keep topped up. Its probably better for me to use it once a week though keeps everything moving.

the P38 unless dead locked has all sorts of tish going on even when parked and draws a lot of juice .... on a full battery, you are lucky to have enough power to crank it after 10-14 days stood.
were famous for being a problem at airport parking
if you didn't have the security info. to reset them, even once you'd gotten into them they were still dead in the water.

I watched a video on YouTube where that Harry's farm guy went up to clarksons and they chatted about their range rovers. I think their model is the l322? Anyway Clarkson was saying when filming they had some newer models they opened and shut the doors multiple times in a day, ecu fired up each time and flattened the battery.

So these days, having retired, I don’t use the Navara much. And I often noticed that the battery voltage was rather low <12.3v etc and it was slow to crank. So bought one of these from Eco-Worthy via their eBay store
Here is a handy link Eco-Worthy Solar Trckle charger thingy
The Navara battery was replaced just before the 5 year warranty ran out. They had a bad batch
So I’d rather give the ‘new‘ battery a chance of staying at a healthy voltage for a few more years …

Parasitic drain is often a problem on JLR products

Yep, exactly that, our Hybrid car has a tiny 12v battery. If I pop in and out a few times,opening doors and windows, it will flatten the battery. When we had a Discovery, that would often flatten the battery as described. Alway carry jump leads in my cars. An now these days a cheap Li-Ion jump pack to ‘wake up’the Hybrid or EV car. Especially at Airport or Cruise ship parking. Don’t wanna get caught with my pants down
