that carrier could do with the needle gun over it Dave ... the carriers always seem to rust badly these days and cause issues with floating calipersSo last week I did a pre-mot inspection on my immaculate Navara. It's nearly 7 years old and only done 41k
And, "While I was in there" I had always planned to change to front discs an pads ready after last years advisory said, "Brake disc worn, pitted or scored but not seriously weakened nearside front inner"

That stainless steel slider has rust UNDERNEATH causing the pad to seize up. (I don'y usually brake hard)
So a set of new Borg & Beck coated discs and pads later - job jobbed![]()

My daughter’s Mazda 3 has struggled with seizing calipers …When I learned to drive, people told me to use the brakes hard on occasions to avoid just this. Only car I had caliper problems with was a Mazda 6. All four seized over a three year period.
