It's a value you put on an earning potential. Hence why I've not let certain things go but have let others.

I've an old micro digger, I was offered bugger all as px back in 2016 so it stayed. But when you need a machine because others are tied up elsewhere that's when you know it was worth keeping.

As with most of the minis/1t dumpers they drop and they will hover at a price and not decrease any further.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to do guerrilla servicing on other peoples squeaky plant ...... twice recently I've had a morning of torment before they bugger off for lunch and I can creep in with grease gun in one hand and a pack of spare nipples in tother 😁

Yes agree with spare nipples - at least half of ‘em wouldn’t take grease. So a soaked the pins with oil 🤠

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
I had a thanks once when I sent a machine back greased and cleaner than when it came out. Didn’t knock b####r all off the bill, though.
when I hired the stone cropper off the local boys in the village ... and it went back fully repaired, cleaned and all sorted ... it cost me ..... sod all - apart from the repair time and a few bits of metal ... Like you Bri, I always like to return it better than it arrived

Yes every time I did something they very graciously thanked me 🙏🏻
And that included putting a new plug on the plant trailer 🥸 Then and popping round with my FLT number numerous times to unload pallets of turf, slabs and blocks 😇
Still waiting for some beer 🍻 or a concessionary purchase of their little Ovlov project 🤣

My neighbour, Terry who lives opposite, is much older than me :p
"Dave, can you just pop over with your digger and pull the hedge up? It's pulled over the fence!"
IMG_9766.jpeg

"Terry that hedge is very overgrown and the fence and posts are completely rotten! I suggest that we clear it all away and put a new fence in."

IMG_9767.jpeg

Hedge chainsawed and loaded into the dumper....

IMG_9768.jpeg

....and roots grubbed out

IMG_9769.jpeg

Quick rake through and track flat....

IMG_9770.jpeg

Raked, seeded and left tidy.
Another job jobbed

Then Terry said, "Can you just sort out a bit of new fence beside the patio, like the one you did at your place?"

To be continued........
