Then last week it was back to Bev and Mark's extension project View attachment 36534
Dug out the shrubbery for a new patio for Chris to lay later on......

View attachment 36535
Then got cracking with the new soakaway. Usual formula of plastic crates into good draining ground at least 5m from the building. In this case it was about 8m away......

View attachment 36536
Ryan got the job and making it all nice ready for pea and crates...

View attachment 36537
When Ryan wasn't looking Bev jumped on the dumper :ROFLMAO:

View attachment 36538
Dug the trench with the good old Topcon set on slope at the correct grade.
Bev was so impressed that she was my banksman:cool:
So for now left it all tidy ready for Mark (he's plumber) to connect up the 110 over the weekend.

Back next week to finish off FWD ready for BC to sign off.......
Ryan's growing up and starting to fill out a bit Dave ;) ... bit of time on the shovel never hurt anyone ;)(y)

It’s actually because the Ifor is parked in her morning sun spot 🤣

Been a mixed bag few weeks with Ryan finishing his A level exams at 6th Form and out and about helping me 😁
IMG_7943.jpeg

Flogged my old red diesel drum and pump. Now using black 25 litre drums and supermarket white

DSC02763.JPG

Then we had a day out at Newmarket Races. Sharon came away £40 up

IMG_7946.jpeg

Ryan is now 'competent' in using my trusty old Hyster FLT

SWMBO has ordered me to "get rid of yer old stuff before you pop your clogs"
So we have started selling up the yard full of 'come in handy stuff' on Marketplace.
It's been going really well and I'm giving 50% to Ryan ;)
IMG_7964.jpeg

Flogged these to a local fabricator the same day :p
IMG_7984.jpeg

Council 3x2 slabs very popular and an old mates brother came over and cleared the lot

IMG_7963.jpeg

Pallet of SWA was very popular. A guy on holiday in Greece was so keen that he sent his sister and mum to collect.😁
Turns out that he wanted if for the scrap copper. And they seem a very respectable family not yer usual 'do as yer likeys'.
In fact mum was a very friendly MILF (can I say that) :ROFLMAO:

IMG_7971.jpeg

Still trying to shift this very nice old (2001) plastic tank. No cracks or leaks.
Wouldn't trust expensive oil in it. But now at £30 it's should go....
But we are now on a nice new bunded.
But think I may use if for collecting rainwater off the barn when Sharon is not looking ;)

This week 'had a look at a few jobs' - always look and plan my method etc
IMG_8022.jpeg

Ex council house now as a BTL rear garden makeover.
"OK let me know when you have cut back these brambles off the fence. I'll come over and get access by popping a fence panel. Then the hardcore and crap can be buried and covered with top soil. One day or two days with snags" :devilish:

IMG_8029.jpeg

Then another NARPO friend wanted me to look at a swimming pool installation
"Where's it going then?"
R "Just here"
"OK clear the site of rubbish and vegetation and we will come back and have a look at the job"
Turns out that he want an Above Ground Doughboy 28x16x4 dropped into a hole and backfilled.
I now have the Installation PDF
Those who have done this will know it's not a simple job

IMG_8031.jpeg

Then the same guy wants us to 'sort out the pond'
It hasn't held water for years. The crappy plastic is long gone.
It's huge and even got an island!
Gonna get my BIL Richard and his mate Tony to look at this one.
They specialise in all types of ponds

For the past year or so a 'slow puncture' on the FLT has been pissing me off.
So a few days ago me and Ryan fixed it.....
IMG_8041.jpeg

"Grandad there's a nail poking through!"
IMG_8042.jpeg

Had to get quite physical with the little bastard. Pin punched then claw hammer job :p
IMG_8044.jpeg

Scrubbed up the old wheel - y'all will know where these old Hysters are made;)
IMG_8045.jpeg

Did I tell you how much I hate split rims 😡
IMG_8046.jpeg

Still a nice lick of Ferguson grey bought it up like new again.
Told Ryan that we now have to do the other 3 wheels 🤣

Thanks for the positive feedback 😁
Yes he been living with us on and off for just over two years now.
Most of the time when he was at 6th Form leading up to his recent A level exams :geek:
He comes from a busy household with 5 siblings, so responded well when I took an interest in him learning new skills.
Mind you I have to very patient when doing the training part. At least I either show him or tell him once or twice and he's got it ;)
The most annoying thing, like all young people, is having to drag him out of bed for an early start...
AND having to think for him in terms of "Have you got yer overalls, boots, gloves, lunch, water etc etc?"
I often call him an "Air head" 🤣
Would really like him to do some sort of modern apprenticeship......

He seems like a good lad to me , you have to accept that he is current vintage so that does normally go with needing you to think a bit for him and also often the need to be surgically removed from mobile !

Yes he's gone for zero to a million practical skills in about 2 years.
He knows he difference between a shovel and a spade and can handle them well 😁
As for the smart phone thing, we pause for a minute and he's looking at it.
I often say, "Look up and out not down and in! " 🤣

I agree, she's picking it up all the time .. all sorts and getting better at it, daily :) (y) ... she'll be m/c capable before she's 10 ;) ... trust me :giggle:

We weighed in some TISH at our local NMR yesterday. Guess who jumped in this machine.......
IMG_8068.jpeg

.....Ryan absolutely loved it. The operator, Alex, almost let him have a go on the joysticks :p

So the deal with scrap metal runs is that Ryan has 50%
We had 320kg of assorted steel on the tipper and 2 x catalytic converters that had been lurking under my fence for a few years.
We was paid out £235 I was blown away that the cat from our old MG TF was weighed in at £175 :geek:
Still paid Ryan his 50% bonus 😇

This bastard should have been weighed in yesterday but I couldn't break the bead 😡
I'll have another go today with the ripper. Want the inner tube for the pool 😎
