Old boys tales that forget there is a return of surplus fuel back to the tank. You can tiger loop the return feed but the old boys never mention that!!!

I am know just asking out of curiosity. How many people have actually been dipped?
In all my time of running vehicles and fleets I have only once been dipped. Stopped in my 18ton beaver tail many years ago in a joint operation when they where also looking for people working whilst on benefits. The truck wouldn’t fit through there pop up gazebo units they where using, I didn’t know my NI number, the serial number of the digger that I was carrying(WTF!!!!) and amazingly, there tube wasn’t long enough to get the last of the diesel fumes that I was running on!! Lorry was once stopped at Ross at the Ministry checkpoint but all they where interested in was weight not fuel. I have a vague recollection of dropping sheep at the cattle market one day and some vehicles where bing checked there. So my point is, is the fear of enforcement worse than the reality??

Quite common to see the "dippers" around here, although not so much this past few years.
£500 fine for first offence, but if your Vat registered that's a whole different ball game.
Have been dipped a few times, as long as its clear they are normally happy

Got dipped coming off the ferry at holyhead early one morning, had been asleep on the ferry and got rudely awakened to "disembark" was still half asleep when the customs asked to check my fuel. Big fat old guy came over opened the flap to find the anti syhpon devise the new transits have, he asked (in a gruff North Wales accent) " how do I get the fuel out of this then? " he wasn't impressed when I said It will come out itself if I keep driving for the next 300 odd mile

Guy clearly says it removes its anti jellying agents and other lubricants and still leaves the chemical marker.

There is a trick to it, and one is not to just poor it into cat litter so I'm told.....

I haven't even seen a dipping station let alone been pulled into one. But I think it varies by area. We are about as in agricultural as you can get round here for so called "countryside" don't even know of a fuel station selling red. My brother says it's a weekly occurrence round him but I don't think they have reached the 21st century yet

Once got asked by a policeman,if I was running on red,answer?No.
Some piling lads got done on job I was on but reckon they got grassed on,it was remote,another firm we used to get diesel near end of job,drilling,so bowsers were full,speedy would charge if they didn't go back empty????

used to come into my yard every 8 weeks or so and check anything that was in there at the time ... but I did sell large quantities of derv & gas oil weekly.

Seen them the other week set up at a roadside weight bridge with police there and seemed to be pulling transit type vans and pick ups.

More fool him for paying Ford that. All he needed to do was run straight from there on.

he was lucky to keep the vehicle .... usually confiscated and gone for good ...... on top of a heavy fine

simply arrest them for obstruction and cart 'em off ...... together with any of 'em dull enough to take their places ..... see how long they'd stay sat on their arses outside Downing Street or Buck House

They don't want people's support,it's about shouting loudest while,'normal' people just get on with life, politicians pander to the noise IE net zero,one dot and threefifty dot org's backers get closer to to system change re set last few years have been about,if you think that's a waste of police time,should see the rows of vans n mini buses parked up round west end n Hyde park areas any time a protest is rumoured,hundreds of coppers doing nothing but click up overtime,sitting about waiting....
