Well i tried greatest hits radio for 5 minutes then off hired the app. Just adverts. So on to 80s music via the alexa app, the mrs was connected to it at home☹ so you tube and that was ok till it drained all the power in my phone early pm 🤣
My wife is a yoga teacher - she uses Spotify to play relaxing music in her classes in the studio.
The kids have access to her Spotify account and I’d never bothered until a couple of weeks ago, when I was in the car with my 11 year old daughter (who loves rock music). She set the Spotify app up on my phone on my wife’s account and we were rocking out to AC/DC ‘Dirty Deeds’ which changed a couple of times to some crappy plinky plinky rubbish… Turns out our choice was playing through the studio stereo (which didn’t go down very well!).
I daren’t use it again!

You old gits need to move on and let us millennials have Radio 2. :ROFLMAO:
As Giles says, we were kicked out of Radio 1 over 10 years ago when Moyles got the boot and the new brigade was brought in. Been floating for years on the Absolute radio/90's/00's, Planet Rock (its all mid tempo boring rock, no Slayer or Pantera) Got quite into Heart Dance in 2020 but soon gets repetitive and can almost tell the time by what tune they are playing after a while. I've also been a big Radio X fan for a few years and its great to have Moyles and Dom back in the mornings after so long - still got adverts though.
Now Radio 2 is just starting to get going, from the afternoon with Scott Mills, Coxy, then often Annie Mac, Trevor Nelson etc - Its like the good old days of R1 again and no trap music!
Just need to get rid of Vine now and his misinformed opinions and callers and R2 will finally be listenable all day.

I do enjoy a few podcasts too although have gone off a few recently. Buildwitt podcast is really hit and miss, some episodes are inspirational, hearing other contractors (all in the USA mind) having the same issues we do with business and hearing how they deal with it. But he does these half episodes chatting with some guy in his office and they are crap. Got bored of the "I'm just a kid I don't know anything" rhetoric.
Diary of a CEO can also be mega one week and flat the next, was disappointed with the interview Richard Branson gave, thought he would be more interesting than he came across. And Steven Bartlett can really get up his own arsee sometimes which gets a bit tiring.
Tried the demolition news podcast with Mark Anthony but really couldn't get into that.
Looking for suggestions on podcasts if anyone has any just so I don't get wound up by Jeremy Vine agreeing with a caller during the "drought" that water from leaking mains isn't as bad as water "lost" down the drain when people clean their cars because once it goes down the drain its gone!😲
Where the F*** do you think it goes when it enters the drains you moron!!!
And dont get me started on hearing him suggest cows are killing the planet... If you are going to do a phone show like that then be educated into the right facts to challenge callers on their Bulls*** like they do on LBC.
LBC can be fun by the way but not all day.... depressing after a while but good for a discussion if you are working with someone who has a brain.

Anyway, I guess thats my views on radio summed up:rolleyes:

@Gunners - you are the only person I have heard who likes the new R2 line-up! I can’t listen to Zoe Ball or Scott Mills, and can just about tolerate Sara Cox but definitely not every day.
And he mentions working with someone who has a brain:ROFLMAO: can't have been listening to R2 that day? never been the same since Wogan left ! To much LBC can make you suicidal i agree !:ROFLMAO:

I listen to a right mixture- radio wise I'll listen to radio 1, 2, radio x (not Chris Moyles though, cant stand him, like Johny Vaughan but sometimes he just goes on too long), capital, magic, kiss and the archers😳😅. Basically I'll chanel hop the moment adverts/a presenter I don't like comes on, probably change channel 10 times on the drive to work😅😅

Once I'm on the job it's wireless headphones in, bbc sounds app, comedy's, dramas, documentarys and music mixs. Or Audible, try to listen to things that are a bit too heavy going to actually 'read' at home- I buy a couple of books a month and read probably 1 a week.

In my mates workshop we have an Alexa and that's brilliant, good sound quality, plenty of choice and most importantly you can literally tell it to shut up when you need to have a conversation 👌👌

I love all sorts of music ..but the dj's get on my nerves ....well most of them radio 2 is ok ......but recently I started listening to the bbc world service .....but the only lasts for about a morning ..then it repeats everything , so I can't even be intellectual without being annoyed !!

He then says his wife and girlfriend want to live with him and in his bed 😂😂😂
