But where do you draw the line at it degrading and causing poloution. It's an absolute nightmare to deal with asbestos contaminated soil as it's supposed to be so bad for the soil
How? It’s a natural mineral mined from the earth.

On the brake factory where they used to have open bays of it and the lads would have snow ball fights with it etc. When they converted some of it to housing they turned the top 5m over and burried it that was the solution then piled the foundations. Had big 50 toners digging clay out and burying it.

It’s not chemical you just need to avoid the fibres becoming air borne.

Not that bothered what the water main is here. Been on bottled water for months after wife had seen some research regarding aluminum accumulation in the brain and links to various issues. Apparently the answer is Volvic.
You are going to drink French water the rest of your life? Not Buxton? Or Scottish?

This is my thoughts but they are worried about it leeching into watercourses it would seem. I dug up some contaminated hardcore 3 weeks ago. Still sat in a pile on the side of the road as noone will collect it

I've been drinking Romanian water...
Just thought, its just about same price as petrol. HOW? Half way up a mountain and stick it in a bottle v's drilling platform, supertankers, refinery, transport etc... Surprised BP and others are not buying up the water before petrol disappears..

Probably come out that bottled water contains micro plastics leaching out from the bottle😂 you can't win. My parents water supply comes straight out the hillside. No UV filtration or anything- lovely water and as far as I'm aware not done anyone any harm in the 400 years the property has been lived in.

Again it’s only hazardous as a dry powder/dust so it’s taken into the lungs and the little fish hook shaped fibres catch on the alveoli in the lungs 🫁

much like the .. all the oestrogen in waste water is turning all the fish female story
we're spring too .. two x 1 micron fliters and UV .. use a Britta jug to fill kettle to reduce scale .. still have to wash it weekly as turns green quietly ... our fish pond pump, which is fed from unfiltered spring water always has loads of leaches in it when I clean it out ... can't be too bad if they can live and thrive in it

That's my understanding of it. Somewhat similar to sillica dust. It's more the problem that the lungs can't clear it and becomes scar tissue. The lungs are actually remarkedly effective at cleaning themselves but I think like everything it's amount of exposure that overwhelms them.

Isn’t that just a stock image of a site office etc can’t see them letting kids on those steps
I agree deffo not a classroom despite media desperately trying to get some images to show how major this is ...I mean FFS some HSE meeting has flagged it up ... decision made crack on. Not end of world FFS....I'm.sure they waited till last week of holidays then decided to announce it...FFS stop turning every single thing into a political battle. Seriously 😖 ..or does it deflect attention from ulez clusterfk?

could be a case of " beggars can't be choosers " ... 's whatever's available - in a hurry ...... used to do lot of crane hire to a company who did temporary/portacabin classrooms ... was usually a 6-8 week lead time between build and delivery/placement ... always booked a crane at least a month in advance

On a more positive note, we collected some stuff this week, that had been on hire while they done remedial works on raac concrete in a school. They had finished and wanted collection before the new term.
The stuff had been out for a good few months, so maybe it`s not a last minute as the media is making out?

They wouldn’t use the steel ones it’d be standard office ones and laid out on car park / yard etc etc can’t get 30 kids in one of those. Just a stock image photo editor pulled off some agency
