Pressure grouting masonry voids

I’ve got two jobs for next year where once we have repointed the engineer has asked us to lime grout the masonry void between the wall skins where the rubble fill is.

So I’m trying to come up with a solution to pump grout into the walls.

The technique is basically you set some Metal pipes in and point rd them then use air etc to pump the grout in.

Struggling to find a nice smallish solution for this in the uk. Most seems geared up to doing drilling or pilling or pumping plaster etc,

This towable was in auction only made £650 but too big for what I need.

I’ve bought a compair c14 compressor (albeit missing fuel tank on closer inspection, £1000 from compair for plastic tank!!!) I’ll run it off a Jerry cab connector.

What I can’t find is the likes of the pump with hopper, the green ones are uk company who I’ll call get a price but not really what I’m after.

Any ideas for a way to blow in few buckets of grout into a wall void

How do you have air pressure but allow hopper discharge into chamber etc

There's a firm up in Hasy that hire them out might be worth a shout...known lads use them for screed pumps.

I've used one of the large devilbiss pressure pots with the built in agitation paddle, bottom feed into a nylon line and a lance made from 10mm steel hydraulic pipe with a ball valve.
Drill into the joints until you feel the voids, insert probe and fill until it appears in the next drilling and repeat.
Stiff clay works well to bung the holes as you work along the wall.
NHL lime mixed with water to make quite a stiff paste and then stir in some Cassein (milk protein powder) and it goes liquid enough to pump 😉

Giles, I had a similar problem with stabilising my house walls in Netheredge. I made a pressure pot using an old gas cylinder. It’s inverted with an outlet pipe where the valve was and I made a ‘hatch hole’ in the base to fill it through.

You are welcome to have a look at it or borrow it.

I’m back in the U.K. on 29th so could send you some photos after that.
