We had a sunken culvert nr us. An absolute bastard to travel over at any speed especially with a loaded trailer. Council came and "dealt" with it. Didn't deal with the root of the problem just relaid more tarmac and now it's even worsebetter send Monmouthshire CC a link to this product then ... what they put in doesn't last a week and is like driving on a Gaydon wash board test track for suspension travel

I doubt it's the product tbh. It will most likely be the prep work. It still needs to be cut square at least 40mm deep and have the joints painted. The emergency gangs don't have the time knowledge or training to do it properly.
cut it out !! .. they don't even brush it outI dream of that level of finish ... 1 man, 1 shovel, ..... shovel it in and whack it down with the back of the shovel -- return 5 days later to repeat![]()

i've used this stuff it's very good: https://redstagmaterials.com/road-maintenance-materials/ez-street-asphalt/Random question...
I've used a bit of the Tarmac yellow bagged coldlay
Recently patched up a gatepost and it was absolutely shite with a couple of bags I'd had sat in the garage for a month..Like took days to set etc and still feels soft all round crap.
In the past I did a trench full roadway width and it was perfect the following day . Only difference there was I used wacker and black jack primer and it was straight from supplier.
Does it go off or what ? Dead short shelf life?

Pay rise for National Highways chief
The chief executive of National Highways got paid two and a half times as much as the prime minister last year.www.theconstructionindex.co.uk
" The annual report also reveals that National Highways’ 6,800 staff each took an average of 11.7 days off sick last year – totalling more than 79,500 days, which, with roughly 260 working days in a year, equates to more than 300 years of working hours lost to sick leave in the agency last year alone.
