how’s lock down been and how’s the future looking?

looking good here with work booked in and phone ringing every other day. Might have filled the rest of the year out in the diary.

I’ve spent lockdown building this,

Phone hasn’t stopped ringing here for work (not plant related). Wether that continues who knows

Busy enough. I have concerns for next year and the reality is the supply chains are causing issues... but I've plenty to do.

To be fair i had a lot of jobs that were started that are to go back to and so i haven't really seen any change as yet and there were plenty jobs lined up to start which are still on just put back a bit (not that I'm complaining need a bit of breathing space). Lake district is always a bit of a bubble though when things tighten up elsewhere

Cannot keep up here, just sifting through the jobs and sacking off the wasters.

They can either wait or they cant.

Who knows when itll burst.

I think the title of the thread is a little premature Giles ..... IMHDO, we are far from post corona ..... give it a few weeks of everyone charging about the country like **** all's happened and see what happens

absolutely ..... dunno why it's just Leicester locked down again ... Merthyr is a lot worse, but you'd have to ring fence it with armed guards to keep the ****ers in ..... most of 'em don't give a s**t

It's coming back without a doubt.

I've got to be honest and say I think they have dealt with it up to now exceptionally well. No Knee jerking, financial help in abundance for individuals and small companies (with the exception of LTD directors whom pay themselves dividends to reduce there tax bill).

The money spent preparing the NHS and quickly sorting infastructure is also impressive. There has been a lot more done than you would realize.

Even there Current stance and the balls to correctly point out that the care home deaths are perhaps the fault of well paid companies who failed to sort PPE and control measures for there staff and customers was right IMHO!

BUT allowing people to roam like f**k is a mistake! Should of been limited to your county. Contract tracing won't be worth a wank if you where on holiday

I don't know why everyone is so scared or sure of a second wave. It's over I reckon. Has gone thru a lot of the vulnerable and sadly killed a lot of them. I'm from Leicester and I can honestly say not me, my missus, the painter who's here this week know nobody who has had it. I think the vast majority of us are either asymptomatic or resistant to it. In other words thread title ok in my book.

Oh it's s funny old world....but am I the only one who thinks the government expects a spike after opening of pubs etc? Otherwise surely if we live in lockdown forever it will just linger on? There's a calculated risk?

Work we had planned for this month and next has been postponed until further notice, as a small company we dont always have months and months ahead of us as we had filled the diary for July/Aug so currently scratching around with not alot to do a few little jobs here and there

's why they had the kids back for a couple of weeks school .... spread it about a bit again ..... get the second wave over with while the weather's warmer, before the onset of the normal flu season and .... get the adults out an' about, down the pub, spreading what the kids've brought home. It's a looooooong way from over

well I can honestly say Jim, I've had three friends die from it ..... one 5 years younger than me - fit and well - and know of several others too, locally.
