opinions experiences tracked dumpers advantages defects applications

Hi, I saw that some companies produce tracked transporters online, I'm not referring to the small ones for the countryside or construction sites but the slightly larger ones that are used for particular jobs, what can you tell me about them in my area, never used, what uses? What are the strengths and weaknesses, and on which funds should I use them? like in the Netherlands maybe they use wide tracks to avoid sinking the tracks and for the problem of flotation, machine alignment and stability? Thank you

Used a morooka12t one on a pond extending job, ground was soft (tractors needed dual wheels to travel there), and quite a short haul.
It was probably the ideal tool for that job, but I think a long haul or better ground would start to limit it.
It was surprisingly quick and nimble for its size, viability was not the best, but the lack of mess was really good climb out of it and you would sink to your ankles, but the dumper was hardly leaving a mark.
Fuel use was heavy for a dumper, compared to a wheeled machine but a wheeled machine wouldn't work there.
This one was on rubber tracks, I would guess the Komatsu pictured above on steel would not be as smooth or quick traveling.

They are special machines, I have never seen them. I don't think Caterpillar builds them. I think the Komatsu ones are out of production. I haven't seen them on the official website. Thanks for your kind testimony.

never seen in my area, unfortunately I saw similar military vehicles online, and even one equipped with a bulldozer-type dozer blade. Maybe it was made from the frame of an excavator, it had a rotation fifth wheel for unloading the container, I don't remember the model

It was a Cat 963 base unit with the cab reversed and a lengthened chassis. It still had the loader tower between the cab and body. Expensive way of doing the job imo, unless it was an old loader converted.

Prinoth Panther crawler carriers??

Cit 5719 Raupentransporter??

in my opinion they created this dumper from the tracked base of an excavator, not a bad idea. they look like special military vehicles:unsure::unsure::coffee::whistle::(

Missed this, Gra. I don’t know the story behind it but can remember seeing one on YouTube a few years ago. I’d guess with that length of track (nearly twice as long as a 963 frame) she’d be a pig to turn in soft ground. With the cost of a 963 for a donor, even used, that machine is never commercially viable when you look at the Prinoths and other dedicated machines.

I thought the video clip was a remote control model?
