Not personally ......
Early '80,s ...... August bank holiday Monday - Monmouth
My younger brother worked for Red & White/National Welsh Omnibus ... service fitter in the depot there ... Afternoon shift and had just come on ... morning shift had had one in and it needed a road test ...
pulled out the depot, looked left up the main street - absolutely rammed, so swung right and got 4 feet under the arch when the horrible noises reminded him he was in the only decker on the fleet of 14 buses in the depot .... embarrassing to say the least - especially with a bank holiday audience.

a week after they'd repaired it and put it back into service, a service driver, relieving a driver off sick, managed to get it a LOT further through the arch than he'd managed and that was the end of the Monmouth depot's decker :LOL: .... singles went through it no sweat

there is now a new bridge over the river and the arch is no longer open to traffic

over cooked the roundabout exit .....
came up to the tunnels on M4 at malpas, Newport one night and they'd got a contraflow in place with the one tunnel shut for maintenance .... parked neatly on the double row of Armco in the central res. cross over, leading to the other tunnel entrance was an XJ6 and a 20-ish foot caravan - all wheels off the deck and plod pissing himself laughing :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

brother only had the front and first side windows, plus the first 4 feet of roof panel
You're either my age or must've been very young @bobthebuilder ;)

To be fair you would think they would give the trucks enough room to avoid this. Hope everyone inside survived

I’ve had a spring break on one of those exact trailers and it nearly caused an accident tbh - the back axle twisted and the trailer rode up over it, and everything came to a very quick stop!
They need double springs as standard imo, and if not then it’s essential to keep an eye on the bump-stops.

but that's a single axle BTLs and looking at the position in the road I'd say he kerbed that -- hard ... tyre looks seriously damaged on the N/S if you zoom in on it
