Came round the corner too fast, pannicked and hit the gas. Baby and puppy in the car. Luckily no injuries. We helped them out of the car and a Good Samaritan took them to the next village where they were staying as she was a bit hysterical.

1 word....dashcam. after having near dos and a mate having his smashed up by an idiot on wrong side and insurance went 50-50 cams in both our car and truck now all time .
Love em or loathe CCTV it's the only way....just had a gatepost wiped out this week 8in square snapped off like a carrot ..driver reckoned he hadn't reversed in...soon as we mentioned CCTV they went all quiet.

It's often whoever shouts loudest with insurance especially with 50 50 settlements which clearly shouldn't be. There's not as many insurance companies as you think either all underwritten (possibly owned) by half a dozen or so when you get into it. I'm sure they use who to blame/claim from to move money between depts at times.

Dashcam's work both ways..... Part of the reason I don't have them..... Like it or not with a HGV or truck and trailer you end up doing unconventional things. Easier to deal with claims the old fashioned way.
