Think it's a flat webbing job, looking at it and the knot ... no sling of any description should be used with any visible damage - end of .. it's not only knotted it's frayed/cut everywhere :cry:

I was thinking ratchet strap tbh

Can't really tell, but it looks like the webbing goes through a piece of RHS.
If so, the sharp edges would explain the nicks and cuts.

Devils advocate I know...but aren't we being a tad ott for a random blurry pic posted online? 😗
To be fair my resized screenshot doesn’t help, but it’s more the principle of the matter.. why spend 300k + on a machine only to skimp on £20 worth of straps/shackles! Same can be said for anyone to be honest…!

Zurich will condemn a tubular sling for the slightest nick in the sheathing.
When I was doing my hiab and slinging training we watched a load of videos on testing slings with nicks and fraying and its surprising how much it weakens things.

didn't even attempt to slow down
Ferrodo used to have an advertising slogan many moons ago which said " your right to speed is your ability to stop " ... basically he was going to 'kin quickly :ROFLMAO:
Fast+downhill+road tyres+moist road= bugger all sudden braking ability. Probably just slide out and put you down and then under the BH wheels. Better to aim for the side and hope you hit nice soft bit of glass 😞.

Used to cycle on road quite a bit years ago and did a few tri/quads but too pussy now. Worse conditions and more traffic and increased awareness of my own mortality have put paid to that.
