So far estimating £5mil of resurfacing required plus verge remediation plus the cost of closing Cobham services
Chatting to our insurance broker today about this...
He said that pretty much all commercial policys have a £5mil limit. This could be expensive for someone ....

Apparently they have changed their estimation from 16000ltra to 400 but still resurfacing the whole lot. 3 paving gangs out. Starting each end and working there way to the middle.
Every farm in the area already has a huge pile of plannings and they have only done maybe 2 miles.
Absolute fortune as every junction for the whole 10 miles has 2 TM guys sat on it. Loss of revenue for all businesses on the route including Cobham services. 10 miles of resurfacing and the payout for 5 cars and a motorbike that crashed.

Not that cheap it's £250 a load. But there is a shortage of them round here so will easily make the money back.
I don't know how much the farmers have bought or whether they are being used as storage by the big tipper firms running it.
It is really quite amazing what can be achieved when they pull their finger out.
Big part of it is you would never get permission for the road closures full width through there without it being an emergency. I don't understand why as I think a short period of complete road closures is better than weeks and weeks of half closures and 5 hour closures and traffic lights.

Yeah they where driving round all the farms offering it. My boss told them where they could shove it. The tipper firm running them are dodgy as sin as well as being well tied in with the agricultural community so they will be going somewhere.

They have done a really impressive job tbh. 5 pavers running around the clock. It's just two dual carriageway sections left which they are cracking on with no.

Who’s the tipper firm?

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Assuming that’s a 20t load? It’s £26 a ton round here for screened planings.
last four loads I had 2021 was £12 a tonne including - delivered (but not from far away) .. got a couple of loads for Russel, same time, but £13-50 a tonne, cos he's further away

" “The permission given was temporary while the F-35A construction programme took place. RAF Lakenheath has confirmed that programme is now complete. But the site is still in use a year after planning permission expired. This land is part of the current Breckland SPA, and quite simply enough is enough which is why this notice has now been served.” "

Anyone know much about canal aqueducts?
Don't think they normally do this?
Some serious crap coming out and gravel etc now. Rang the emergency no they answered after about 5 minutes 😬😂 let's see how this ends up.
Anyone got a boat handy 😬

Is the tunnel carrying a road? That looks pretty serious!
They grout-injected the approaches to an aqueduct near here a few years ago which I think was precautionary (but might have been done because of seepage I suppose, but nothing like your pic!).
