5 cylinder.........
Was that the one that a camshaft was considered to be a service item ? 😅
Did sound good until the cam broke between 4 & 5 😉
Ours were better than this pile of s**t that's just following us home on a tilt deck over the 66 now ...fk RAC are a bunch of....☠️☠️☠️💥💥☠️☠️☠️

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
I assume you're all referring to a 5 lung diesel lump? ...
The VAG/Audi 5 pot petrol lump was a lovely motor .. smooth as silk ... mate transplanted one into a Passat estate, many years ago ... we called it the flying wardrobe ... it's ability to go exceeded its capacity to stop by at least a factor of two, maybe three :ROFLMAO: went like hell in the night ... a five pot motor is the smoothest configuration you can get (aside from a V10 of course):giggle:

Called em at 2.30pm got home at 1:30 am...2 hours from home ...utter pricks. Nearly shelled out cash to get it sorted by local outfit...
I’ve had similar with AA before. If you’re not in a vulnerable spot or not a woman alone you’re not a priority. The cost of cover goes up every year but level of service seems to get less. I’ve belonged to AA for 21 years. This years renewal came in at £75 more than a new customer signing up online on like for like cover. I rang them and they dropped £90 off renewal fee just like that

In my friends case she would definitely have done better to have got a local to deal with it. The one who springs to mind could have towed it back to his yard and then brought it up here and backloaded from druidland.
£850 to transport it at their extreme leisure was swallowable but writing it off in the process wasn't 😡

Thinking that if my old landy failed to make progress I'd be asking on here or arbtalk.co.uk before trusting it to the "professionals" 😁😉🙂

They wanted 650 last night...in the end they did it anyway but RAC paid them after many phone calls ...

Yes if it wasn't a Friday night and not wanting to wreck a few lads evenings i'd have got more creative....biggest trailer I've got is 14ft and didn't fancy bringing lwb van home over the 66 in a storm on it.

Got home eventually 😆😆

I've got green flag and always been spot on. They just ring a local place to recover you.
And having a truck they seem a bit more sensible, each time I e rang I have told them the issue and that it can't be repaired or towed and they have sent a lorry out. Usually takes about an hour which I don't begrudge either

May be time to abandon the AA. I’ve never seen that level of service with them.

Cancelled my aa cover when the “new member” was half the price and they wouldn’t match. Now have green flag which is much cheaper but obviously hope I don’t need to find out the difference.
